Summary
Guidewire is searching for a User Experience Engineer with expertise in designing, architecting, building and maintaining Saas User portals and dashboard visualizations. As a User Experience engineer, you will be part of the team responsible for the development behind our HazardHub customer portal and its NextGen counterpart. This is part of the the most comprehensive set of property risk data, casualty risk data, and hazard risk scoring in the P&C insurance industry.You must have strong knowledge of User Experience patterns, portal development, react and related technologies. You’ll be joining a team of talented API, infra, Data and UX Engineers faced with an exciting mix of greenfield and legacy projects as HazardHub continues it’s maturation from startup to an Enterprise product within Guidewire. You’ll collaborate with Product management and other stakeholders tow build out and maintain both our new enterprise ready portal and it’s legacy counterpart.

Job Description
Responsibilities
- As a part of a team, develop and maintain a User Portal for our APIs, serving both external clients and internal teams
- Build frontend features in React (Typescript) using Guidewire’s internal UI component library
- Write clean, maintainable, reusable, and testable components aligned with best practices
- Collaborate with UX designers to bring wireframes to production ready experiences while ensuring consistency with industry standards
- Collaborate with product stakeholders & backend engineers to deliver features that integrate seamlessly with our REST microservices (user management, reporting/billing, data services, authentication/authorization)
- Participate in design/architecture discussions, providing input on user experience impacts & technical trade offs
- Write comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
- Conduct code reviews and work with peers to grow the team’s skills
- Help bridge legacy systems with modern microservice architecture, ensuring a smooth transition
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with enterprise-level user experiences
- BS (in Computer Science or related field) or equivalent related work experience
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript, React and Node.js, with deep knowledge of modern frontend development practices
- Experience working with design systems and UI component libraries
- Experiences integrating with REST microservice architectures
- Solid understanding of testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library or equivalent)
- Proficiency with SCM (Git), CI (GitHub Actions)
- Experience with Cloud services such as GCP or AWS.
- Experience with container / orchestration such as Docker, Kubernetes
- Demonstrated ability to identify and adopt new technologies as well as the correct places to maintain current standards

- Experience building admin portals, developer portals, or usage/billing dashboards
- Familiarity with RBAC models for fine-grained access control
- Experience working with authentication/authorization flows

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $139,000 - $247,000 . Your base pay will depend on your experience, skills, education, training, and location among other factors. All full-time positions or part-time roles working 30 hours or more a week at Guidewire are eligible for benefits that support their health and well-being including health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and a company sponsored retirement plan. In addition, some roles may be eligible for the annual company bonus plan, commissions, and/or long term incentive awards which are contingent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, company and employee performance.Disability Accommodations and Guidewire’s Appeals Process.
