Used Car Sales Manager

We are looking for an experienced Used Car Sales Manager to lead our pre-owned vehicle department. The right candidate will have a proven track record in automotive sales management, strong leadership skills, and a passion for maximizing profitability through inventory management, team development, and an exceptional customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the used car sales department
  • Source, acquire, and manage pre-owned vehicle inventory to meet market demand and profitability goals
  • Set pricing strategy for used vehicle inventory in alignment with market conditions
  • Hire, train, and develop a high-performing used car sales team
  • Coach sales associates on closing techniques and customer satisfaction best practices
  • Set and monitor sales goals, tracking progress against monthly and annual targets
  • Work closely with the reconditioning department to ensure vehicles are retail-ready in a timely manner
  • Manage trade-in appraisals and auction sourcing
  • Collaborate with the Finance and F&I department to maximize per-vehicle gross profit
  • Analyze market data and adjust inventory mix accordingly
  • Maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations related to used vehicle sales

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of automotive sales management experience required
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
  • Strong knowledge of used vehicle valuation tools
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Experience managing vehicle inventory and sourcing through auctions
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
