Summary: As a UI/UX Designer, you'll be responsible for designing web products that serve our learners, customers, and internal teams. These products include data-focused dashboards for educators and customer success to manage classrooms and gain student learning insights, as well as web experiences for learners to facilitate training, track progress, and explore careers via the Transfr Trek application. Learners also engage with our virtual reality training and career exploration simulations. You will collaborate closely with the Senior Director of UI/UX, and the Product and Engineering teams to create engaging, responsive, and user-friendly interfaces across all devices (browser, mobile, and tablets).

Responsibilities:

  • Advocate for a simple, unified, and amazing user experience across all of our products.
  • Work with the engineering team to deliver UX that is achievable within a project's timeline.
  • Translate product specifications into design deliverables including user personas, journey maps, wireframes, prototypes, and production ready visuals.
  • Enhance and add to existing Figma component library.
  • Ability to create and maintain working prototypes using Figma.
  • Conduct design sessions with cross-functional groups.
  • Analyze and report the needs and behaviors of users, business goals, and stakeholder requirements using Design Thinking methodologies
  • Analyze user testing results to refine the design of user interfaces and flows.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years UI/UX experience 
  • Expert knowledge of Figma
  • Knowledge of modular design principles
  • Ability to develop new ideas and creative solutions
  • Ability to work comfortably in a fast paced, agile environment
  • Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines with creativity, independence and high standards. 
  • Ability to collaborate with Product and Engineering team members and clients
  • Expert knowledge of responsive design
  • Self-motivation is key to this position
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity by proactively asking good questions to stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, manage, and prioritize multiple projects
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a good sense of humor! 

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience in designing dashboards
  • Experience in the education technology industry preferred
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS
  • Knowledge of javascript, React, or other frameworks
  • Knowledge of web accessibility best practices
  • Knowledge of virtual reality design principles

What We Offer:
The base salary range for this position is expected to be between $110,000-120,000, with the actual base salary amount dependent on a number of factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s credentials, relevant experience, and primary job location. In addition to salary, this role may be eligible for additional company benefits such as stock options, 401(k), paid vacation and sick time, and health benefits.
