ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Aid in establishing the core style and presentation of the user interface and relevant menus.
  • Create a design style guide for UI elements and auxiliary materials for easily iterating and creating new elements.
  • Design assets for all menu states to support full player feedback during interaction.
  • Craft graphics for in world signage and displays.
  • Plan user flows with designers to facilitate the mechanical needs of gameplay systems.
  • Comfortable with exporting and ingesting assets into UE5 Editor for flexible use with the material graph system. 
  • Work closely with the project lead, environment artists, and concept artists to refine the overall vision and aesthetic for the interfaces. 
  • Highly collaborative with other team members and willing to provide timely and constructive criticism to submissions from colleagues.
  • Self-motivated and highly adaptable to new workflows and processes while willing to learn new skills and insert themselves into gaps within the team structure. We are looking for that “Indie dev” mindset.
  • Responds well to feedback and constructive criticism to their submissions and workflows and willingness to iterate on assets.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ego-free, highly motivated, action-oriented, curious learn-it-all with a growth mindset
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous and unregimented environments
  • 3-5+ Years of experience directly related to the role using Unreal Engine or similar engines.
  • Shipped at least 1 AA+ 
  • Strong UX Design skills and understanding of complex userflows.
  • Past experience with Vector and Raster programs, like Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Affinity Designer, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of UI material workflows and UI art production pipelines.
  • Have experience creating interfaces for First-Person games.
  • Eager to take ownership over features and systems and see them through to completion.
  • Likes Sci-Fi and Horror media.

We are on the lookout for people who are highly self-accountable. As this is a smaller team, there won’t be a lot of hand-holding as production begins to ramp up. If this kind of challenge excites you, we invite you to apply! 

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $65,000.
