This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

This role is part of the Transporter team, focusing on the Transporter product line. We are building sustainable infrastructure for transporting crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface to advance our mission.

As a project engineer, you will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of spacecraft integration by collaborating with cross-disciplinary engineers, technicians, customers, Blue Origin teammates, Lunar Lander National Team partners, and facility operators across the USA.

Responsibilities:

  • Support design release planning and organization, supply chain integration, and collaboration across all vehicle subsystems to inform decision making for design trades in order to support overall timely build execution

  • Represent the Transporter in discussions with Supply Chain to help maneuver around barriers in order to successfully meet deadlines needed to get hardware on dock in time for flight build

  • Manage hardware status, supporting both internal and external demand

  • Ability to write technical proposals and statements of work

  • Work closely with Core Program to align hardware need dates with design release cycle

  • Collaborate with all departments to access and collect data that informs decision making

  • Interface with NASA customer to provide schedule and insight for supply chain efforts

  • Reduce and close risks and identify opportunities

  • Manage key program metrics (and associated reporting tools) in areas such as: Budget, engineering schedules, equipment schedules, procurement schedules, production schedules, program management status reports, and resource plans

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or STEM field to include systems engineering, aerospace engineering, computer science, applied mathematics, statistics, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering

  • 2+ years of project engineering or project manager experience

  • 2+ years interfacing with supply chain

  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills 

  • Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office suite of software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Experience with collaboration tools like Jira, Confluence, Sharepoint, etc.

  • Self-starter, strong bias for action

  • Experience working collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic work environment

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with MS Project, P6 or similar planning tool.

  • Exceptional with Excel and manual data analysis

  • Experience with launch vehicle, spacecraft, or satellite development, production, or operations

  • Experience driving a product from concept development into production

  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

  • Experience with CREO, Windchill, Confluence, Jira, Tableau, SQL, MySQL, Power Query, Power Pivot


 

Compensation Range for:

CO applicants is $107,707.00-$150,789.45;WA applicants is $117,498.00-$164,497.20

  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.

  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
