Program BackgroundTechnoServe has assisted over 250,000+ smallholder coffee households in East Africa to improve their incomes by increasing the quality of the coffee they produce, boosting their coffee production, and linking them to premium markets. Going forward, TechnoServe is developing innovative approaches and partnerships with corporations to enable more smallholder coffee households in East Africa to achieve livelihood security.
In Ethiopia alone, TechnoServe has supported over 160,000 smallholder coffee households to improve their coffee productivity and to improve overall coffee business over the past 10 years.
Job PurposeThe appointed individual will be responsible for conducting thorough picture audits, reviewing and monitoring training data as part of the program’s monitoring and evaluation activities.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesConducting Picture Audits (65%)Regularly review all uploaded training and visit photos into PIMA, to ensure they meet required standards and guidelines.
Check for inconsistencies, missing elements, or non-compliant visuals and highlight anything unusual.
Report identified issues to the appropriate line manager and MEL Manager with clear documentation.
Prepare brief updates and reports on audit findings and the status of issue resolution.
Follow up to confirm that corrective actions were taken and issues are fully resolved.
Update corresponding program team and MEL teams how shared image will be improved and needed to maintain accuracy and consistency.
Engage with field teams to confirm data accuracy and clarify any gaps or inconsistencies.
Ensure all assigned photos are fully reviewed, validated, and meet quality and compliance requirements.
Create clear summaries of audit findings, highlighting key issues, trends, and status updates.
Organize, correct, and compile monitoring and evaluation data to maintain high data quality.
Check that all datasets are complete, properly structured, and ready for reporting or analytical work.
Review picture and data audits TechnoServe standard operating procedures.
Ensure the availability of the report for the audited pictures.
Any other duties assigned by the MEL Manager/Specialist.
- Role holder is expected to travel to woredas of implementation sites on a regular basis to provide concrete feedback for FTs.
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Information Science, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a minimum of two (2) years of experience in managing data and data analysis.
Experience using computer programs related to data analysis, including Microsoft Excel.
Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Strong oral and written communication skills in both English and Amharic; knowledge of Afan Oromo and Afu Sidama is an added advantage.
Keen attention to detail.
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and basic knowledge of mobile data collection tools such as SurveyCTO and CommCare.
Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
