The Intelligence Production Solutions Division (IPSD), part of the Decision Advantage Solutions Business Area, is currently seeking a highly skilled Training Coordinator/Instructional Designer Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the Chinook Program. This role will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and delivering comprehensive training solutions that ensure the customer personnel are equipped with the knowledge and skills required to effectively use geospatial intelligence systems and tools. The ideal candidate will have a background in instructional design, training coordination, and adult learning principles, with a strong focus on geospatial technologies.

Position may be performed in the following locations below.  Please note Gaithersburg, MD is the program’s primary work location.

Clearance Level Required:

Top Secret with the ability to obtain SCI, as well as a Polygraph.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement training programs for end-users of the customers geospatial intelligence systems and applications on Task Order 2 (TO2), ensuring alignment with user needs and mission requirements.
  • Create engaging and effective instructional materials including course outlines, training manuals, e-learning modules, and job aids.
  • Coordinate training schedules and ensure logistics are in place for both in-person, CONUS and OCONUS, and virtual training sessions.
  • Collaborate with SMEs, system engineers, and project managers to gather content for training materials and ensure technical accuracy.
  • Facilitate train-the-trainer sessions and assist in building internal capabilities for continuous knowledge transfer.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics to continuously improve content and delivery methods.
  • Deliver classroom and virtual instructor-led training (ILT) and self-paced eLearning solutions on geospatial systems, data analysis, and software tools used by NGA.
  • Administer and track training progress, ensuring that users achieve proficiency in the systems and tools critical to NGA’s operations.
  • Serve as a liaison between the training team and customer leadership to identify new training needs based on evolving mission requirements and user feedback.
  • Stay up to date with emerging instructional design trends, technologies, and best practices to enhance the effectiveness of training efforts.
  • Gather and identify lessons learned and user feedback for continuous training improvement.  Additionally implementing feedback loops with the software development team for software improvements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • US citizenship is required per contract.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Training & Development, or related field and 12-15 years of prior relevant experience or Master’s with 10-13 years of prior relevant experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in training coordination, instructional design, or related fields, with a focus on geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) or similar technical environments.
  • Proven experience in creating and delivering training programs for adult learners in complex, mission-driven settings.
  • Strong proficiency with instructional design methodologies and experience with learning management systems (LMS).
  • Ability to design and develop eLearning content using tools like Adobe Captivate, or other similar software.
  • Familiarity with GEOINT systems (e.g., ArcGIS, Google Earth, customer tools) and an understanding of their application within the customer mission.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear, engaging, and easily understandable manner.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of GEOINT, geospatial data analysis, and mapping technologies.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and understanding of how to incorporate these into the training development process.
  • Experience with virtual training platforms (e.g., WebEx, Zoom, Microsoft Teams) and creating engaging online training solutions.
  • Experience in project management and familiarity with tools such as Confluence, Jira, Microsoft PowerPoint or Project

Pay Range:Pay Range $101,400.00 - $183,300.00
