The Test Development Engineering Intern is focused on executing moderate to moderately complex engineering tasks required in providing comprehensive, cost-effective test solutions to be deployed in an Electronics Manufacturing environment. This internship is crucial for those starting their career in test development for electronics manufacturing services, providing an opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical setting while developing first areas of subject matter expertise and learning industry standards and practices. This internship will be under the guidance of engineering management. It’s a role that combines hands-on experience with professional growth, offering insights into automated test for electronics manufacturing and a pathway for future advancement in the field.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to:
- Demonstrates a foundational understanding of electronics principles
- Learn manufacturing test processes and evaluation of printed circuit board assemblies and products for testability.
- Executes standard engineering projects and tasks, including protype projects, and performs routine technical work with the engineering team, ensuring compliance with quality standards and that products meet customer required specifications and standards. Escalates issues as necessary.
- Learn how to develop detailed test specifications based on product technical design information (schematics, PCB layout, functional description, test coverage requirements etc.)
- Assist in developing automated test system design concepts and propose hardware/software solutions for testing Printed Circuit Board Assemblies and fully assembled products
- Assist in the design and development of test fixtures and associated test software
- Assist with assembly and wiring of automated test systems
- Troubleshoot and debug test system hardware and software
- Verify and validate test systems to confirm the required level of functionality, performance and test coverage
- Assist with control and release of test development design documentation
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
