KBR is seeking a Test Automation & DevOps Engineer to join our team onsite in El Segundo, CA, Colorado Springs, CO or remote.

KBR (formerly LinQuest) is the prime contractor on the MSEIT contract. By applying to this position, you are in consideration for KBR employment. However, you also have the option to be hired by one of our subcontractor teammates.

The MILSATCOM Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (MSEIT) effort provides leading edge Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) for the US Space Force’s Space Systems Center (SSC). We support the Space Force’s acquisition of state-of-the-art satellite communications systems, providing global secure, survivable, and protected communications for our nation’s warfighters. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Complex Frontend Applications: Design and implement responsive, accessible, and scalable web applications using React, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS/SASS, and modern JS libraries.
  • Integrate and Visualize Real-Time Data: Build real-time, interactive data visualizations using D3.js and integrate frontend components with RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
  • Ensure Frontend Performance and Security: Optimize application performance and apply secure coding practices, particularly for regulated or government environments.
  • Automate Testing and Deployment: Implement and maintain automated tests (e.g., Jest, Cypress) and contribute to CI/CD pipelines for reliable frontend builds and releases.
  • Collaborate Across Disciplines: Work closely with backend, DevOps, and AI/ML teams to ensure seamless integration of frontend interfaces with overall application architecture.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related technical field
  • 15+ years’ combined experience in test automation, DevOps, or MLOps roles
  • Strong proficiency with Playwright, pytest, and Postman for automated functional, integration, and regression testing
  • Proven experience designing test plans, developing automated test suites, and validating workflows for document ingestion, LLM responses, and UI interactions
  • Expertise with Kubernetes for deploying and scaling ML workloads
  • Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure-as-code in secure and regulated environments
  • Hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD or similar platforms for end-to-end automation of ingestion, testing, and model deployment workflows
  • Experience implementing observability and monitoring solutions to track uptime, latency, and model health
  • Strong understanding of system stability verification, non-regression testing, and performance monitoring
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate across engineering, QA, and ML research teams

Desired:

  • Familiarity with GPU scheduling and optimization in Kubernetes clusters
  • Experience with API contract testing, schema validation, and accessibility/usability testing
  • Knowledge of hybrid and edge deployment strategies for ML systems
  • Certifications in Kubernetes administration, cloud security, software testing, or MLOps best practices
  • Experience with model performance monitoring, drift detection, and automated retraining pipelines
  • Familiarity with IL5/IL6 security compliance and DoD data-handling requirements

Basic Compensation:  $134,000 - $190,000 in California and $122,000-$173,000 in Colorado

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
