Forbes Vetted is seeking an experienced commerce editor to temporarily join the Commerce Strategy team. This role will focus on maintaining and optimizing Forbes Vetted’s content strategy across its core editorial categories, using search trends, performance data and revenue insights to inform content planning and identify opportunities for growth.

The Temporary Senior Strategy Editor will work closely with Editorial, Data, Brand Solutions and paid media teams to ensure our content remains timely, competitive and optimized for traffic and revenue. This role will also support Forbes Vetted’s paid search and paid social initiatives, as well as seasonal and tentpole planning.
This is a temporary role scheduled through March 2027. 

Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly content planning across Forbes Vetted’s 10 editorial sections, identifying new coverage opportunities and creating briefs based on search demand, emerging trends, seasonality and business priorities.
  • Monitor category-level performance, including traffic, rankings and revenue trends, and make weekly recommendations for updates and other content optimizations. 
  • Monitor the changing search and discovery landscape—including traditional SEO, AI Overviews and LLM citations—to identify opportunities and inform how we plan and optimize content for both SEO and AEO/GEO.
  • Monitor Google Trends, news cycles and consumer interest to capitalize on timely opportunities and strategically time updates to high-impact evergreen content.
  • Support paid media content strategy, including managing and updating Amazon storefronts with the paid social team, assisting with new paid search campaigns and regularly auditing SEM content to ensure product recommendations and promotional information remain current.
  • Assist with seasonal and tentpole content strategy, including identifying evergreen optimization opportunities and developing promotional language plans for major shopping events, sales periods and holidays.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has 5+ years of experience in commerce editorial, content strategy, or a related digital publishing role.
  • Has a strong understanding of commerce content strategy, SEO best practices and the performance metrics that drive traffic and affiliate revenue.
  • Is interested in how search and content discovery are evolving and has experience with AEO/GEO, AI Overviews and LLM visibility.
  • Is comfortable working with data and tools such as Google Trends, Looker, Semrush and Ahrefs and can turn performance findings into clear editorial recommendations.
  • Has excellent writing, editing and communication skills and can work effectively across teams.
  • Is highly organized, proactive and comfortable balancing long-term planning with timely opportunities in a fast-moving commerce environment.

The hourly rate for this role is $45.00 - $55.00
