Temporary Associate Account Director / Account Supervisor | 15 hrs/week
This is not a traditional Account role.
You'll lead a high-profile YouTube engagement for one of the world's fastest-growing content creation platforms, helping shape creator-first programming, product education, and long-form content experiences for a global audience. This role is initially scoped through June 2027 and aligned to a dedicated client engagement, with potential opportunities to expand as the partnership grows.
You are equal parts business lead, strategic partner, and operator. You know how to build trust with senior clients, translate ambition into clear plans, and guide cross-functional teams to deliver work that shows up in culture, not just on a content calendar. You will partner closely with the Account lead on this business.
You are comfortable in the gray. You bring structure where it’s needed, push when it matters, and stay close enough to the work to keep the quality bar high. You are energized by the intersection of creators, content, education, and product storytelling, and understand how compelling long-form content can build both audience engagement and brand affinity.
Location: Los Angeles preferred. While this is a remote role, proximity to the internal team in Los Angeles and the client team in China is a plus. There is no expectation to work from a physical office, though candidates who prefer a hybrid or in-office environment are welcome.
This position is estimated to be up to 15 hours per week, starting as soon as possible and will go through June 2027.
What You'll Own
Client Leadership
- Serve as the day-to-day client lead across the engagement, working closely with internal teams, client stakeholders, and the account lead.
- Participate in a standing weekly client status meeting (5:30-6:30pm PT), supplemented by ad hoc meetings, working sessions, and written communication through the client's preferred collaboration platforms.
- Earn trust quickly, and keep it by being proactive, informed, and never caught flat-footed
- Navigate ambiguity with confidence, especially in environments where strategy is set internally and requires strong translation into execution
Team Leadership
- Lead and support a cross-functional team across account, project management, strategy, creative, and production
- Collaborate closely with the account lead on the business
- Set the tone for how the team shows up: calm, accountable, and solutions-oriented
- Create an environment where people feel supported, challenged, and motivated to do their best work
Operational Excellence
- Partner closely with Project Management to oversee scope, staffing, budgets, estimates, timelines, and financial health of the engagement.
- Surface risks early and proactively develop solutions before they impact delivery.
- Maintain a high standard of work quality, ensuring deliverables meet both client expectations and audience needs.
Requirements
What you bring
- 7+ years of account management experience, preferably within an agency environment
- Experience leading digital, social, content, or creator-led programs
- Experience supporting YouTube content, channel, or creator programs is a plus.
- Clear and confident communicator across presentations, written communication, and client conversations
- Comfortable working in fast-moving environments where priorities evolve and ambiguity is part of the process
- Experience managing global stakeholders across time zones and navigating cross-cultural working relationships
What makes someone successful here
- You lean in, not back. You don’t wait for direction, you create it.
- You care about the work, not just the process, and stay close enough to elevate it.
- You can zoom out to see the bigger picture, and zoom in to fix what’s broken.
- You build real relationships, internally and externally.
- You know how to balance being strategic, scrappy, and steady all at once.
- You genuinely like and respect the people you work with.
