How You'll Make an Impact
- Conduct daily detailed DNHC process for assigned areas of responsibility
- Manage all telephony equipment under limited supervision
- Follow established guidelines for telephone network daily health check procedures and call out protocols during outage situations
- Prepare detailed RCA documentation as a postmortem for critical outages
- Configure and troubleshoots SS7, ISUP, and SIP with limited assistance and guides TOE I with execution
- Perform installation and turn up of Trunk Groups and augments as determined by Traffic and Capacity Team
- Understand telephony circuit architecture concepts, OC12, OC3, DS3, DS1 etc.
- Create mops and plan changes in advance with limited assistance
- Assume key role in trouble shooting efforts during major outages and provides guidance to TOE I
- Assume key roles in all Residential and Business telephony issues
- Document switch and telephone network architecture
- Assist other TOE in documenting switch and telephone network architecture
- Demonstrate IP knowledge, L2, L3, TCP, UDP and telephony equivalents, ability to troubleshoot IP connectivity issues or CCNT
- Support all core telephony equipment including hardware and software upgrades, maintenance and expansions
- Guide TOE I in implementation
- Evaluate and plans for core telephony equipment changes and expansions
Working Conditions
- Must be able to work the required shift: Sunday - Thurday: 9 pm-6 am
- Office environment
- May work in Network Lab environment, 24X7 Network Operations environment, Field Operations environment
- Occasional travel as required
What You'll Bring to Spectrum
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience
- CCNA/CCIE or other industry certifications
Experience
- 3+ years Wireline, Wireless, or Broadband telephony switch installation or administration experience
- 3+ years database management and network configuration work experience
- 3+ years telephone industry experience
Skills
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- Ability to troubleshoot during outage situations
- Comprehensive knowledge of telephony disciplines (SBC, VoIP Switch, SIP protocol, etc.)
- Ability to effectively work with provider vendors
- Ability to maintain professional composure and demonstrate critical thinking during stressful or complex projects
- Ability to use personal computer and software applications
- Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record within company required standards
