The Technology Director role will lead the engineering strategy and delivery of software solutions that enhance Wells Fargo's Privileged Access Management (PAM) capabilities. The director will drive innovation and automation to reduce risk, improve operational efficiency, and ensure compliance with enterprise security standards.

The Technology Director role will lead the engineering strategy and delivery of software solutions that enhance Wells Fargo's Privileged Access Management (PAM) capabilities. The director will drive innovation and automation to reduce risk, improve operational efficiency, and ensure compliance with enterprise security standards.
In this role, you will:
- Manage a team of engineering managers and engineering leads
- Focus on delivering commitments aligned to enterprise strategic priorities
- Build support for strategies with business and technology leaders
- Guide development of actionable roadmaps and plans
- Identify opportunities and strategies for continuous improvement of software engineering practices
- Provide oversight to software craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by the teams or third-party providers
- Identify financial management and strategic resourcing
- Set risk management guidelines and partner with stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
- Develop strategies for hiring engineering talent
- Lead implementation of projects and encourage engineering innovation
- Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers
- Lead team to achieve objectives
- Interface with external agencies, regulatory bodies or industry forums
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Technology Strategic Leadership
- Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
- 8+ years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 4+ years of management or leadership experience
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance (e.g., FFIEC, SOX, GLBA) and how it intersects with identity governance and privileged access
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional engineering teams, drive delivery excellence, and remediate underperforming programs
- Experience with security architecture design for high-risk environments, including segmentation, credential vaulting, and session monitoring
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and communicate technical strategy to executive leadership and regulators
- Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage numerous, competing demands from internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated success in reducing identity-related risk through automation, governance, and continuous monitoring
- Experience integrating APIs with federated identity providers using OAuth2, OIDC, and SAML
- Ability to design systems that scale horizontally across microservices and cloud-native environments
- Familiarity with next-gen PAM capabilities, such as passwordless authentication, behavioral biometrics, and machine learning-based anomaly detection
- Track record of mentoring engineers, establishing coding standards, and fostering a culture of technical excellence
- Experience scaling engineering teams and managing cross-functional collaboration
- Ability to manage in a matrixed organization environment
- Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities
- Ability to positively influence, motivate, and direct teams
- 5+ years of experience in the Financial Services industry
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
