As part of the GFiber Brand group, the External Communications team is responsible for defining the brand narrative and telling the story of GFiber across multiple platforms. This role will bring to life our brand promise of providing effortless, premium internet to all customers by writing content that helps users understand and get the most out of their GFiber internet experience. 

Role Description

The GFiber Brand team is looking for a writer that can blend technical writing ability with the creative aspects involved in crafting engaging and compelling written content. This writer will effectively
communicate with our audiences and provide information to our customers in ways that give customers confidence with sometimes complicated technology concepts. The role will involve creating, reviewing 
and editing copy across Help Center articles, email campaigns, blogs, virtual assistant and self service channels, video scripts and other platforms that guide, reassure and persuade customers. What will make you a success here? Your ability to be an expert in the GFiber brand voice and tone, understand our target audiences, and convey complex concepts in clear and concise ways.

In this role, you will be a part of the GFiber External Communications team. You will collaborate with your teammates and stakeholders across the company, primarily customer communications, marketing and customer support. You’ll build credibility by using easy-to-understand words in ways that are accurate and reflect technological concepts. Your skills in writing, editorial, content management, product 
knowledge, UX, creative and brand voice will be how you shape customer experiences through compelling stories. As the brand evolves, you’ll be involved in shaping long-term brand strategy, crafting content that reflects the brand’s growth, new product launches, and shifting customer needs.

In this role, you'll:

  • Write and edit clear, concise content across multiple platforms (Help Center articles, emails, blogs, how-to scripts, video scripts, and self service channels) to communicate complex technical information in an accessible way for all customer segments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (such as customer communications, marketing, customer support) to ensure stakeholder needs are met, content aligns with company goals, and adheres to brand voice, tone, and guidelines.
  • Stay current with industry trends and product updates, applying this knowledge to create relevant and up-to-date customer-facing documentation that reflects GFiber’s evolving brand and technology.
  • Ensure content is accurate, consistent, and compliant with internal and external requirements, including AP Style, GFiber brand voice and tone, legal and business rules. Maintain high editorial and product accuracy.
  • Measure and report on the effectiveness of technical writing content, adjusting strategies as needed to improve customer engagement and content performance.

At a minimum we'd like you to have:

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience writing for marketing, advertising, consumer technical support or consumer-facing documentation.
  • 3 years of experience with writing for web and digital applications; emails, online blogs, online help guides, etc. 
  • Experience using digital applications (such as Microsoft Word, Google Docs or other) to develop written content.

It's preferred if you have:

  • Experience with consumer technology and/or lifestyle brands in the digital space.
  • Experience writing in compliance with content standards like AP Style or brand standards.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $87,200 - $127,600 + bonus + cash award + benefits. As pay varies by location, your recruiter will share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
