What You'll Do:
- Build or process hardware of a developmental, prototype, or critical nature
 - Collaborate with engineering to troubleshoot hardware or assemblies; check and modify test chambers or fixtures.
 - Perform soldering and rework at the electronics board-level, often requiring a microscope.
 - Provide training and instruction to technicians and program personnel on IPC and industry standards.
 - Apply/enforce/comprehend accept/reject criteria and revision status from engineering drawings, MIL-specs, screening specs, or process certification training.
 - Serve as the subject matter expert to operate, program, and train on Surface Mount Technology (SMT) equipment to build electrical assemblies.
 - Operate Automated X-Ray Inspection (AXI) and Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment, analyze results, and rapidly determine Go/No-Go criterial based on industry standards.
 - Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, as required.
 - Maintain electronic build records, required logs, records, and reports in accordance with company and program policies/procedures and government regulations.
 - Inspect incoming or production materials or articles for conformance to engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications; process standards and specifications; and production or process plans.
 - Serve as lead for inventory control on SMT production items such as creating stock identification, running BOM availability reports, and kiting projects, as required
 - Review and accurately interpret schematics, drawings, specifications, and procedures for completeness and compliance to contract requirements.
 - Assimilate diverse data and recommend action to address unique and complex technical situations.
 - Contribute to written and oral proposals and design reviews, internal review boards, specifications, work standards, and business processes.
 - Provide advanced instruction, training, and certification(s) on IPC/industry standards, specialized procedures, and techniques to other employees and may develop processes and procedures essential to departmental compliance.
 - Make continuous improvement suggestions, participate and lead projects in area of responsibility.
 - Effective communications and regular interaction with higher level management, customers, and internal and external auditors.
 - May plan and commit resources, coordinate, and lead the work of lower-level employees to assure task completion.
 - May participate in industry-wide working groups or seminars and be recognized by industry experts, suppliers, and customers.
 - Lead, train, and coordinate work schedules, priorities, and tasks of other work center personnel.
 - Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
 - Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- High School diploma or equivalent plus 3 or more years of related experience.
 - Each higher-level degree, i.e., Bachelor's or Master's, may substitute for two years of related experience. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
 - A current, active TS/SCI security clearance is required.
 - Ability to coordinate activities of a team, predict and meet schedules, resolve disconnects.
 - Ability to apply basic computer skills to input and access data via computer interface.
 - Solid communication skills and the ability to exercise them in a technical environment.
 - An ability to be trained to obtain specialized certifications required to perform the assembly and fabrication operations. (Clean room, ESD, FOD, Solder, Splicing, Crimping, J-STD, IPC-610/620).
 - Current IPC J-STD-001 Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) Certification.
