The Technical Solutions Manager – Inverter Technology is part of the e-STORAGE engineering team responsible for developing and managing utility-scale battery energy storage solutions worldwide. This role specializes in inverter technologies — both central and string — and their integration within BESS platforms.

This role leads technical due diligence of third-party and in-house inverters, guides internal product development, and ensures compliance with certification and grid requirements

Work closely with engineering, business development, and execution teams to refine the product vision, lead internal technical resources, and drive development of internal tools that strengthen performance validation and enhance overall solution competitiveness

Responsibilities:

Inverter Technology Ownership

  • Lead technical due diligence of both central and string inverter technologies (3rd-party OEM and internally developed).

  • Develop technical product requirements for qualification process and provide supplier recommendations.

  • Assist procurement and engineering in reviewing supplier proposals and negotiating technical requirements with suppliers.

  • Monitor evolving codes and certifications, analyze their impact on the market and specific products, and recommend how to leverage these developments

  • Drive internal and external Independent Engineer (IE) reviews to validate product performance and compliance.

  • Maintain traceability of inverter specifications, certification status, performance validations, and internal evaluations to support cross-team collaboration.

Solution Development & Applications Support

  • Collaborate with engineering, business development, and execution teams to refine inverter-related solution architecture and product vision.

  • Research, analyze, and draft market requirements for existing and new products by engaging with customers and sales teams, reviewing industry sources, and translating insights into product and roadmap proposals.

  • Present proposals to internal stakeholders to gain alignment and approval.

  • Act as an internal advocate for customer needs and requirements.

  • Drive new product ideas through product development and/or system integration processes; coordinate and influence cross-functional product leaders.

  • Communicate and train business teams on product specifications, advantages, applications, and competitive benchmarks.

  • Prepare technical content and materials for customer visits, training sessions, webinars, and events.

  • Provide and validate content for marketing collateral such as datasheets, brochures, and white papers; support marketing in product launches and performance tracking.

Integration & Supply Support

  • Support procurement and supply chain teams by ensuring inverter manufacturing processes, certification status, and compliance requirements are met.

  • Work with suppliers and internal teams to resolve technical gaps during product qualification and integration.

  • Provide technical guidance to ensure smooth commercialization and supply readiness.

  • Support ongoing measurement of product success in the field and recommend improvements based on performance and customer feedback.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field; a postgraduate degree (M.Sc./Ph.D.) in engineering is preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in inverter technology, power electronics, or energy storage product development, with hands-on exposure to utility-scale BESS projects and applications.

  • Strong understanding of inverter technology (both central and string), power electronics, and their integration with battery systems.

  • Solid knowledge of power systems engineering, grid compliance, and interconnection requirements.

  • Familiarity with control systems and product validation processes.

  • Proficiency in applying relevant codes and standards (NFPA, UL, IEEE, IEC, etc.), with proven ability to track emerging standards and assess their impact on products and solutions.

  • Ability to quickly absorb detailed product information and effectively communicate technical aspects to diverse stakeholders.

  • Understanding of financial product calculations, including cost structure, pricing definition, analysis, and recommendations.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate convincingly with customers, independent engineers, certification bodies, and industry groups.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with proven ability to collaborate effectively across time zones, cultures, and functions (engineering, BD, supply chain, execution).

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional technical resources, drive alignment across teams, and influence product and solution strategy.

  • Experience working in international organizations across multiple time zones, with strong preference for prior collaboration with teams in China.

  • Proficiency in Mandarin is preferred but not required.

  • Flexibility to travel, including international travel as required (up to 15%) for vendor assessments, integration testing, and industry events.
