What is the opportunity?
We’re looking for a Technical Solution Specialist with strong hands-on expertise in virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), cloud platforms, and enterprise lab environments to join our team. This role is focused on owning, maintaining, and evolving Omnissa’s internal lab environments, which are critical for product validation, solution testing, enablement, and customer demonstrations. As a Technical Solution Specialist, you will be responsible for the health, scalability, and advancement of internal lab platforms, ensuring they closely reflect real-world customer environments. You’ll work across multiple technologies—including Horizon, Workspace ONE, cloud platforms, and supporting infrastructure—to deliver reliable, high-performing lab capabilities. This role requires both operational excellence (Day 2 operations) and forward-looking innovation, helping expand lab capabilities to support new products, integrations, and use cases.
What will you do?
- Own and manage internal lab environment supporting Omnissa solutions, including Horizon, Workspace ONE, and related platform components.
- Perform Day 2 operations across lab infrastructure, including monitoring, patching, upgrades, and issue resolution.
- Maintain and enhance Horizon environments across multiple platforms:
- vSphere / vCenter
- AWS Workspaces Core
- Microsoft Azure
- Nutanix
- Emerging platforms (e.g., OpenShift, OpenStack as applicable)
- Manage and support key Horizon components including:
- Horizon Universal Console
- Unified Access Gateway (UAG)
- App Volumes
- RDSH environments
- ThinApp
- Administer and troubleshoot Workspace ONE components, including:
- UEM / Device Management
- Access and Identity services
- Hub Services and Connectors
- Mobile Threat Defense integrations
- Oversee gold image lifecycle management (creation, maintenance, optimization, and versioning).
- Manage application packaging and delivery across lab environments.
- Maintain identity and directory integrations, including Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID.
- Administer cloud infrastructure and services via Azure Portal and other cloud platforms.
- Support and maintain networking configurations, including load balancing, routing, and security components such as F5, NSX, and firewalls.
- Monitor lab health and respond to operational alerts and patching workflows (e.g., ticket-driven updates).
- Ensure lab environments remain stable, current, and aligned with latest product releases and architectures.
- Create and maintain technical documentation (e.g., Confluence), ensuring accuracy and usability for internal stakeholders.
- Partner with Engineering, Product, and Field teams to validate new features, integrations, and architectures in the lab.
- Continuously identify opportunities to expand, automate, and improve lab capabilities to increase efficiency and scalability.
What will you bring to Omnissa?
- 5+ years of experience in VDI, endpoint management, or enterprise infrastructure environments
- Strong hands-on expertise with VMware Horizon / Omnissa Horizon platforms and supporting components
- Experience managing vSphere / vCenter environments and virtualization infrastructure
- Familiarity with multi-cloud environments, especially Microsoft Azure and/or AWS
- Practical experience with Workspace ONE (UEM, Access, Identity) or similar endpoint management platforms
- Knowledge of identity systems, including Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID
- Experience with application lifecycle management, including packaging and delivery
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, including load balancing, firewalls, and secure access
- Proven ability to perform system patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management
- Strong troubleshooting skills across infrastructure, platform, and application layers
- Experience maintaining technical documentation and operational runbooks
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting lab or pre-production environments used for demos, testing, or enablement
- Familiarity with NSX, F5, and advanced networking architectures
- Exposure to Omnissa Intelligence / DEX or similar monitoring tools
- Experience with automation or scripting to improve operational efficiency
- Knowledge of emerging container or hybrid platforms (e.g., OpenShift)
- Background in cross-platform VDI deployments (cloud + on-prem)

Compensation: The typical base salary for this role is between USD $148,000 – $200,000 per year and it may be eligible for participation in a corporate bonus program. Actual compensation offer may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, skill level, or other relevant factors.
