WHAT YOU’LL DO
As a Technical Solutions Analyst, you will work directly with utilities and energy innovators to modernize the grid. This customer-facing role connects business needs to the product roadmap and engineering delivery. You will lead discovery, design solutions, support integrations, and guide customers through implementation so they reach value quickly. This position will report to the VP, Customer Experience.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Discovery & RequirementsUnderstand each customer’s workflows, KPIs, and constraints.
Translate business needs into clear, testable requirements.
Distinguish between regulatory requirements, customer must-haves, and nice-to-haves.
Develop a detailed knowledge of our product to map requirements to existing features, upcoming roadmap items, and needed customizations.
Explain the value of solutions in terms of data quality, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.
Define how GridUnity and customer systems exchange data.
Map fields, identify transformations, and validate data.
Guide configuration of GridUnity products and ensure customer IT environments are ready.
Partner with Project Managers and the CX team to plan and run User Acceptance Testing.
Track issues, support defect triage, and manage readiness checklists.
Coordinate cutover activities with customers and internal teams.
Work with BAs to document requirements and compare them to market best practices and product capabilities.
Create clear source-to-target data mappings, confirm data ownership and quality rules, and review historical data to reduce risk.
Identify future integration opportunities.
Contribute to Statements of Work and scoping workshops.
Act as the technical liaison during sales and early project phases.
Support or deliver product demos and training.
Ensure clean handoffs to customer administrators and support teams.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
Foundational understanding of the U.S. transmission interconnection ecosystem.
3–6+ years in a customer-facing solutions role (Solutions/Business Analyst, Solutions Engineer, Implementation Consultant).
Strong skills in requirements gathering, process modeling (BPMN/UML or similar), gap analysis, and acceptance criteria.
Experience with systems integration concepts: REST APIs, JSON/CSV, authentication, data mapping, and basic ETL.
Ability to read payloads, propose data mappings, and identify edge cases.
Proficiency in SQL for data validation and test queries.
Strong written and verbal communication; able to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders and business context to engineers.
Experience supporting project execution: issue tracking, risk management, test planning, and tools like Jira/Confluence.
Flexible and proactive mindset suited to a scaling B2B SaaS environment.
Strong sense of ownership and organized documentation habits.
Familiarity with implementation methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, Waterfall, etc.).
WHAT WILL SET YOU APART
Experience in a startup, scaling SaaS company, or similarly dynamic environment.
GIS, data pipelines, or iPaaS tools.
Security and compliance awareness (PII, audit trails, RBAC; CII familiarity is a plus).
Comfort with visualization/prototyping tools like Figma, Lucid, or Draw.io.
Light scripting (Python) for data checks or quick transformations.
Experience with BI tools such as Tableau.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT
Travel: ~10–20 percent for onsite discovery, testing, or launches.
COLLABORATION ACROSS GRIDUNITY
Customers & Partners: Lead discovery, integration planning, and UAT; serve as a steady technical point of contact through go-live.
Customer Experience: Work with PMs and BAs to align customer requirements with the product roadmap and project plan.
Product Management: Provide requirement gaps, market insights, and customer needs.
Engineering: Deliver clear requirements, edge cases, and data contracts; validate builds against acceptance criteria.
Go-to-Market: Support SOWs, estimates, demos, and knowledge transfer to Customer Success and Support.
SUCCESS CRITERIA
Clear linkage from requirements → shipped capability → measurable customer outcomes.
On-time integrations with clean data contracts and minimal post-launch defects.
High customer satisfaction (post-UAT/NPS) and strong internal partner feedback.
Reusable documentation, mappings, and playbooks that shorten future implementations.
GROWTH PATH
This role can grow into Implementation Architect or Sales Engineer, depending on interests and strengths.
