Job Description – Sales Engineer (New England)
This position will have overall responsibility for an assigned territory and the growth within that territory. Handling the full sales cycle from prospecting, business development, and closing all the way through account management. The Sales Engineer must be a hunter who can excel throughout a complex sale with a highly consultative sales approach in Industrial markets, specifically Power Generation.
This person must find the customer’s pain points and work with our engineering and project management teams to solve problems within specific vertical markets and demonstrate the ability to provide service information, consultation, and recommendations. The target market is power generation/utilities and specifically combined cycle gas plants. Previous experience calling on combined cycle power plants within a geography is a strong plus. In addition, pulp and paper will be high priority targets as all of SVI BREMCO’s products and services can be supported at these sites.
Candidate Requirements
· Proven experience in the target sales territory calling on various plants in the power, pulp and paper, chemical and petrochemical space, including Maintenance Managers, Reliability Manager, Plant Manager and Purchasing.
· Sales experience with a track record of success in B2B outside consultative sales and business development for industrial sites by supporting the complete sales cycle. This includes identifying customer pain points, scope formation and budgeting projects.
· BS Engineering degree is a plus
· Previous Utility and Power experience is required and HRSG experience is a plus
· Experience with CRM software is required (SVI BREMCO uses Zoho). Position will be responsible for tracking all sales funnel activity in Zoho and run their business in the CRM allow the use of reporting and metrics to measure success. Key metrics will include: number of accounts with good contact by product and service, number of RFQ’s and revenue.
· Ability to understand and sell complex solutions and communicate them with customers/prospects in a way that is easily understandable
· Strong technical aptitude
· Able to travel to be face-to-face with clients (50% travel)
· Support Lunch and Learns and customer presentations along with industry related conferences and vendor fairs
· Demonstrated ability to successfully build and work an assigned territory to cultivate business
· Entrepreneurial spirit is a must
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, incl PPT, Excel, Word
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to inform sales strategy and positioning.
- Strong understanding of building codes, specifications, and industry standards (e.g., ASME, AWS, OSHA, etc) and experience with reading drawings.
