We’re looking to expand our team across the board. 
We are seeking a Technical Project Engineer I (TPE I), reporting to the Director of Engineering Operations, who will be responsible for detailed planning across all engineering activities at York Space Systems. The ideal candidate for this role is detail oriented and loves formulating and iterating plans as challenges and new opportunities arise. The TPE I will support all the principal engineers to determine the tasks and activities needed to deliver multiple customer programs and R&D projects. They will drive risk management to ensure successful delivery of programs. The York TPE will be a critical member of our engineering team, contributing to continuous improvement, technical problem solving and driving the organization and balance of the York engineering team.
RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Create and manage detailed schedules for all engineering aspects of customer programs and R&D projects.
  • Collaborate with SMEs to identify resources (human and physical) that are necessary for each program. 
  • Identify and mitigate risks, look across programs to identify systemic challenges and spearhead solution development. 
  • Develop strong relationships across the organization through effective communication and leadership. 
  • Facilitate commitment acceptance of key milestones across the organization based on data. 
  • Coordinate a team of engineers working multiple space projects at once, to include establishing design concepts and criteria, product research, development, testing and integration. 
  • Engage with program managers effectively through strong presentation and interpersonal skills, support program managers in customer or supplier engagement if requested. 
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across the engineering organization, spearhead projects as required. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher education in engineering. 
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience as a systems engineer and/or program manager 
  • PMP certification, ACMP certification or the desire to gain one. 
  • Demonstrates self-initiated work in a team environment with strong leadership skills. 
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain U.S. security clearance. 
  • Experience Using Jira, Python and Power BI a plus.
