The Technical Project Lead is responsible for overseeing the successful execution of technical projects, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and at a high level of quality. This role provides technical guidance and supports IT infrastructure projects, including network connectivity and low-voltage cabling, IoT deployments, while ensuring alignment between project requirements and execution. The Technical Project Lead coordinates activities across internal teams, vendors, and clients, serving as the primary point of contact for technical communication and issue escalation. This role also contributes to process improvements, supports team coordination, and assists in performance management by providing feedback to leadership. Overall, this position requires strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to manage multiple projects, navigate challenges, and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead day-to-day technical project execution, ensuring timely and successful delivery aligned with scope, schedule, and quality expectations.
  • Coordinate and communicate project activities across cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Maintain organized and accurate project documentation, reporting, and client updates.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison for assigned clients, providing clear and consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Act as a point of escalation for technical or operational issues raised by Pivital team members or clients.
  • Escalate issues to the Program Manager, Account Team, and Leadership as needed for resolution.
  • Support IT network connectivity projects, including low-voltage cabling, IoT deployments, and related infrastructure initiatives.
  • Provide technical insight and guidance to internal teams to ensure quality and alignment with project expectations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve escalated technical challenges in the field or during implementation.
  • Provide feedback and input to the Program Manager to support performance management of project team members.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team culture through empathy, communication, and support.
  • Monitor team and customer communications, including chats and day-to-day activities.
  • Assist with team scheduling and coordination of resources.
  • Contribute to process improvements that enhance project efficiency, quality, and client satisfaction.
  • Identify systemic project issues and implement effective, scalable solutions.
  • Support project performance management, reporting, and presentations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or 10+ years of experience supporting IT infrastructure, network connectivity, or structured cabling projects.
  • Project management certifications or coursework preferred (e.g., PMP, CAPM, CompTIA Project+, ITIL Foundation).
  • Experience meeting SLAs and delivering projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Financial management experience, including forecasting and P&L.
  • Demonstrated success leading technical or field teams in a project-driven environment.
  • Proven ability to manage escalations, coordinate stakeholders, and drive timely resolution across multiple teams.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across teams and with clients.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with experience managing documentation, tracking activities, and ensuring reporting accuracy.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate challenges and implement effective solutions.
  • Experience working in a client-facing service organization, MSP, integrator, or similar environment.
  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Monday.com, Jira, or similar).
  • Strong performance management and team development experience.
  • Effective leadership experience managing remote or distributed teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions in a timely manner.
  • Willingness to maintain schedule flexibility, including responding to after-hours client or field technician needs.
