About the Role:

This role blends technical program management, IT and security strategy, and operational leadership. You will drive scalable, secure, and efficient technology processes while leading cross-functional programs across IT, Security, Product, and Engineering teams.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Shape and execute Gusto’s IT and Security strategy, reducing inefficiencies and improving security.
  • Lead cross-functional programs that enhance Gusto’s technology infrastructure and security posture.
  • Design and implement scalable IT and security solutions to improve operational security.
  • Establish and manage business performance metrics, security compliance, and executive reporting.
  • Partner with IT and security leaders to optimize technology solutions and ensure compliance.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex IT and security challenges, collaborating across teams.
  • Act as a bridge between technical and business teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment.

Here’s what we're looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience in IT, security, or technical program management.
  • Proven success in executing strategic IT and security initiatives and managing cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to analyze and communicate insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Experience improving IT and security processes for efficiency and security.
  • Strong ability to influence senior leaders and drive key initiatives.
  • Passion for continuous improvement and securing company operations.

Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $120,000-$150,000 in Denver, $140,000-$160,000 for Los Angeles and most remote locations, $155,000-$178,000 for San Francisco, New York, and Seattle. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience, level, and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.

Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week (or more depending on role). The same office expectations apply to all Symmetry roles, Gusto's subsidiary, whose physical office is in Scottsdale.

Note: The San Francisco office expectations encompass both the San Francisco and San Jose metro areas.

When approved to work from a location other than a Gusto office, a secure, reliable, and consistent internet connection is required.
