About the Role:
Wing is looking for a Technical Program Manager, Flight Systems to join our Technical Program Management team. This role will be based in Palo Alto, CA or Remote in the United States. As part of Wing’s Technical Program Management function, you’ll embed yourself in the work of the engineering and operations teams to drive cross-functional delivery of strategic and high value programs spanning the entire spectrum of Wing’s on board software and hardware. The ideal candidate will be an excellent program leader with experience managing complex programs across organizational boundaries to deliver new technical capabilities, tracking progress towards organizational goals and objectives, maintaining program plans and timelines, and highlighting identified gaps and problems and tracking mitigation and resolution of them.
What You’ll Do:
- Organize complex, cross-functional technical programs across all phases of a development lifecycle
- Structure engineering scoping, execution, and delivery, and program-manage large and diverse cross-organizational teams
- Facilitate alignment on timelines, goals, and deliverables of related projects and teams
- Collaborate with stakeholders across all levels of the organization to support strategic and tactical decision-making
- Facilitate escalation of risks and issues and unblock obstacles, ensuring all leadership and stakeholders are aware of progress and blockers on a continuous basis while proposing mitigation plans, and aligning stakeholders on de-risking strategies
- Apply technical judgement and understanding to build consensus, scope projects, establish and maintain schedules and plans, and communicate status to stakeholders
- Analyze processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and gaps and collaborating cross-functionally and globally to improve processes and tools
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- 4+ years of experience in technical program management
- Technical aptitude and strong analytical skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills in technical and non-technical environments
- Strong organizational tendencies and detail orientation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and efficiency
- Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall program management styles
- Experience establishing work relationships across multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders in a distributed working environment
- Comfort with ambiguity and changing priorities, and the ability to exercise good judgment in a rapidly changing and sometimes stressful environment
- Experience with Technical Change Management and/or Configuration Management
The US base salary range for this full-time position is the salary range below + bonus + equity + benefits. Wing’s salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your location during the hiring process.
Salary Range
$128,000—$198,000 USD
