We’re looking for a Technical Program Manager to join Snap Inc! As a key contributor to our Monetization org, you will take ownership of engineering operations and excellence to monitor, detect and improve various aspects of infra and product performance.Working from one of our three West Coast locations, you’ll utilize your technical expertise, engineering and program management skills to recognize issues and risks, provide expert solutions to tough problems, drive scheduled completion and ensure operational excellence. Some of the key areas that the Technical Program Manager will drive will include Infrastructure cost, service availability, budget A/B experiments, Spendwatch on call and revenue investigations..
 

What you’ll do:

  • Lead Monetization Eng operations including service stability and efficiency, cost efficiency, experimentation throughput, incident management, spend monitoring through an on call rotation and related revenue investigations

  • Drive a culture of engineering excellence and develop roadmaps to address systemic issues

  • Partner with Product, Data Science, Engineering and Customer Support teams to lead performance investigations and build customer trust

  • Audit our alerts, define key metrics, build observability through dashboards and constantly innovate to proactively identify problem areas in the ad stack  

  • Create frameworks and mechanisms for the organization to operate more efficiently such as launch reviews, retrospectives and decision making forums

  • Lead quarterly roadmap and OKR planning process

  • Work closely with Monetization leadership and execs to understand our business performance, identify and address organizational issues, and be a constant advocate for Monetization needs outside the organization

  • Mentor and grow other junior TPMs and Engineers to scale the performance of the org

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong operational mindset and ability to derive independent conclusions

  • Strong organizational skills and proven project management track record

  • Experience in project schedule management and work breakdown structures

  • Capacity to work in a fast paced, continuously changing environment

  • A demonstrated ability to manage complex projects effectively (sets clear goals, identifies roadblocks, designs solutions, and tracks progress against deadlines)

  • Ability to take calculated risks to achieve engineering breakthroughs

  • Someone who can prioritize, focus, and is an independent thinker and problem solver

  • An individual who is self-motivated and driven and has demonstrated commitment to take accountability and responsibility for success of large programs
     

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • BS/BA degree in an analytical field (Computer Science, Engineering, Science, Math, etc.) or equivalent years of experience

  • 6+ years of experience spanning Engineering / Data Science / Technical Program Management leading cross-functional efforts in the software or tech industry in a data-driven environment. 

  • 3+ years of experience in Technical Program Management 

  • Prior experience leading the development of a complex and business critical application platform in the cloud, collecting requirements, getting customer teams to onboard and maintaining operational excellence

  • Hands on SQL/Presto/BigQuery/Redshift experience

  • Development experience using Python (numpy, pandas, etc.) or other scripting language to do data analysis, advanced analytics and development of automation tools (e.g. automating slide generation, detecting outliers, etc.)

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Grafana, Looker, Tableau, DataStudio) building dashboards, source control (e.g. GitHub), ticket management (e.g. JIRA)

  • Excellent communication skills, ability to influence and hold teams accountable

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in ad platform, auction systems, or dual-sided marketplace

  • 4+ years of experience as a developer, data scientist or machine learning engineer

  • Hands-on experience with cloud technologies and service oriented architectures

  • Track record of using data analytics for improving SW operations and organizational efficiency 

  • Advanced degree in an analytical field

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

Zone A (CA, WA, NYC):

The base salary range for this position is $190,000-$284,000 annually.


 

Zone B:

The base salary range for this position is $181,000-$270,000 annually.

Zone C:

The base salary range for this position is $162,000-$241,000 annually.

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
