Job Description:
Title of position: Technical Product Owner
Location of position: Remote US
In this role, you have the opportunity to lead product vision, product goals and product roadmap creations with stakeholders in partnership with the Product Manager. You are responsible for understanding technology strategies to support the creation of product roadmaps that drive value and deliver benefits to customers and stakeholders. You will lead communications with senior leaders effectively and be collaborative and passionate about building and/or enhancing great products and experiences.
You are responsible for: (not limited to)
Lead with Vision: Collaborate with business teams and customers to shape product strategies, visions, and goals that drive value and deliver exceptional benefits.
Strategic Roadmapping: Translate user needs, technical capabilities, and engineering requirements into prioritized roadmaps and requirements that guide Agile development teams.
Decision-Making Authority: Make critical trade-off decisions between features, quality, and timelines to deliver the best solutions for stakeholders and customers.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the primary point of contact for communications, issue resolution, priority setting, and roadmap discussions with key stakeholders.
Value-Driven Development: Own the product backlog, refining priorities, breaking down epics into manageable user stories, creating acceptance criteria, and managing story acceptance.
Guide Transformations: Lead technology transformation efforts, including the creation of microservices and APIs for Cloud migration initiatives.
Clear Communication: Regularly update stakeholders and leaders on build progress, escalating risks when necessary, and providing leadership with insights to resolve team challenges.
Customer Engagement: Attend customer meetings to understand their needs and ensure that products are designed to drive value and deliver tangible benefits.
Mentorship and Team Empowerment: Take an informal mentorship role with less experienced Product Owners, energizing and encouraging your team to achieve their goals.
Continuous Improvement: Contribute to maintaining product management software, influencing the SDLC process, and ensuring a well-groomed and prioritized backlog for high-quality product delivery.
You are part of the larger Technology organization as a key member of the Technical Product Management team reporting to the Director of TPO.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:
6+ years of relevant experience as a TPO working with large development teams and APIs/web service technologies
4+ years with SDLC/Agile development
3+ years with roadmap management systems
College or university degree or equivalent experience is required.
Preferred Certifications: SAFe, Product Manager/Product Owner (e.g., Pragmatic Certified, CPO, CSPO, PSPO), and Cloud certifications (Microsoft Azure preferred).
