The Baldwin Group (NASDAQ: BWIN), takes a holistic and tailored approach to insurance and risk management.

About the Role

MIS (Mainstreet Insurance Solutions), part of The Baldwin Group, is looking for a Technical Product Manager to own two of our most technically complex platforms: Coverage Navigator, our proprietary insurance rating engine, and our lead management and partner integration platform.

This role sits at the intersection of insurance carrier connectivity, API-driven integrations, and high-volume lead operations. You'll define and drive the product strategy for how insurance rates are retrieved, how thousands of daily leads flow into our systems, and how our distribution partners connect to our platform — all while collaborating closely with a peer Product Manager to align roadmaps and deliver against an ambitious product vision.

If you're a PM who is equally comfortable reviewing an API contract as you are presenting a roadmap to leadership, this role was built for you.

What You'll Own

Insurance Rating Platform

• Own the product roadmap for Coverage Navigator, our proprietary comparative rating engine used to retrieve real-time insurance quotes across multiple carriers

• Manage the full lifecycle of carrier integrations — from scoping and requirements through testing, launch, and ongoing maintenance — working closely with engineering to ensure reliable, accurate rate retrieval

• Define data standards and integration patterns for connecting new carriers, and continuously improve the reliability, speed, and accuracy of the rating experience

• Partner with carrier representatives and internal teams to stay ahead of underwriting appetite changes, rate updates, and new product line availability

• Monitor platform health and quote performance metrics, identifying degradation, carrier-side issues, or data quality problems before they impact advisors or end customers

Lead Management & Partner Integrations

• Own the product strategy and roadmap for our lead management platform — the system that ingests, stores, routes, and tracks thousands of leads per day from multiple distribution partners

• Manage direct API integrations with embedded distribution partners, including scoping integration requirements, overseeing technical implementation, and ensuring ongoing reliability and data accuracy

• Own our CSV-based lead ingestion solution for partners who are not yet on a direct API integration, including intake workflow, field mapping, validation logic, and error handling

• Define and maintain data contracts and integration documentation for both API and file-based partner connections

• Ensure lead data integrity end-to-end — from inbound partner delivery through routing, assignment, and conversion tracking

Cross-Platform Collaboration

• Work closely with the Product Manager overseeing our CRM and advisor tooling platforms to align roadmaps, sequence dependencies, and maintain a coherent product vision across the full technology stack

• Serve as the integration-side voice in cross-team planning — ensuring that carrier, partner, and lead data flows correctly into downstream advisor and reporting workflows

• Participate in joint planning sessions, technology reviews, and stakeholder updates alongside your peer PM to present a unified product perspective to leadership

Technical Leadership & Stakeholder Alignment

• Translate complex technical requirements into clear product specifications that engineering teams can execute against without ambiguity

• Act as the primary point of contact for carrier technical teams and distribution partner engineering counterparts during integration projects

• Represent the platform in business reviews and leadership updates, connecting technical delivery to business outcomes like quote volume, conversion rates, and partner onboarding velocity

• Identify and escalate integration risks, data quality issues, and platform reliability concerns with appropriate context and recommended remediation paths

What We're Looking For

Required Experience

• 4+ years of product management experience, with a strong technical foundation — you have worked directly with engineering teams on API-driven products and are comfortable reading API documentation, reviewing integration specs, and participating in technical design discussions

• Hands-on experience managing API integrations, including defining requirements, overseeing implementation, and troubleshooting issues across partner or third-party systems

• Experience owning a high-volume data ingestion or lead management platform, with an understanding of data quality, routing logic, and pipeline reliability

• Demonstrated ability to write clear, unambiguous product requirements — PRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria — for technically complex features

• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to monitor platform performance metrics, diagnose issues, and drive resolution across engineering and partner teams

• Excellent communication skills — able to engage credibly with engineers on technical details and with business leadership on strategic priorities

Preferred Experience

• Background in insurance technology, insurtech, fintech, or a similarly regulated, data-intensive industry

• Familiarity with insurance rating concepts — carrier appetite, underwriting data inputs, real-time quoting, or comparative rating platforms

• Experience working with middleware or integration layers (e.g., MuleSoft, MuleSoft-equivalent, iPaaS platforms) and understanding how data flows across connected systems

• Exposure to embedded distribution models, partner API programs, or B2B2C technology platforms

• Experience with CSV or flat-file data exchange workflows, field mapping, and data validation in an enterprise context

• Familiarity with data pipeline concepts, lead scoring, or CRM integration patterns

Who Thrives Here

• You naturally gravitate toward the technical details — you ask about the data model, the error handling, the edge cases — and you use that depth to make better product decisions

• You can hold a conversation with a carrier's engineering team in the morning and present a roadmap to business leadership in the afternoon

• You treat integrations as products — not just plumbing — and you think about reliability, documentation, and partner experience as seriously as features

• You're energized by complexity and volume: thousands of daily transactions, dozens of carrier connections, and a growing partner ecosystem excite rather than overwhelm you

• You collaborate generously with peers and see roadmap alignment as a shared responsibility, not someone else's problem
