GFiber is expanding into new markets and the Technical Operations Program Managers (TPMs) play a key part in supporting that expansion strategy. The Technical Operations PgMs at GFiber are responsible for providing project and program management for our Construction teams.
Role Description (and additional job description)
As our Technical Program Manager, Outside Plant (OSP) Construction, you will work on cross-product and cross-functional initiatives, partnering closely with a variety of stakeholders to plan, deploy, and deliver OSP Forward Build projects, new technologies to local markets and surrounding communities. In this role, you will manage the day-to-day construction operations, milestone tracking, and completion of projects related to the construction of our OSP fiber to the home (FTTH) network. You will be responsible for everything that happens downstream of Engineering/Permitting including pre-construction planning, construction execution/sequencing, and splicing/testing for project turnover and acceptance to downstream stakeholders.
In this role, you'll:
- Manage project budgets, scheduling, resource/activity planning, activity sequencing and prioritization, vendor performance tracking, project dependency awareness, financial reporting, invoice approval, and material management.
- Manage, develop, and maintain vendor contracts, terms, and construction schedules with the project team, ensuring project milestones and delivery dates are aligned with business commitments.
- Communicate progress with internal/external stakeholders to ensure that projects are scoped properly and handed off seamlessly for network acceptance.
- Foster an open, transparent, and cross-discipline change management process.
- Ensure projects are built according to approved engineered design plans and GFiber specs and standards in adherence to current contracts, SOW’s, and municipal requirements.
At a minimum we'd like you to have:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.- 5 years of experience in Program/Project Management within large, capital intensive and technical scopes of work.
- 4 years vendor management experience directly managing vendor resources, performance management, and accountability for project-based deliveries.
- Experience scheduling projects, capital tracking/forecasting, reporting project status and costs versus commitments, and providing insights/ influence to commercial terms with contractors and vendors.
It's preferred if you have:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, and other disciplines), Construction Management.
- 6 years Project/Program Management experience.
- Experience with large-scale infrastructure deployment in public right-of-way.
- PE Licensure, PMP, PgMP, or other project management certification.
- Experience managing telecommunication infrastructure, Fiber to the Home/Plant (FTTx) operations, and/or outside plant (OSP) projects.
- Ability to influence and resolve disputes with internal / external stakeholders while balancing multiple competing priorities to meet business deadlines.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $130,000 - $143,000 + bonus + cash award + benefits. As pay varies by location, your recruiter will share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
