Position Summary:
The Technical Operations Team Leader is a strategic and hands-on leadership role responsible for aligning Redaptive’s technical scope of work and preconstruction delivery functions. This role leads the ECM specific Technical Operations Team Leads including technical engineers, and preconstruction specialists—to ensure the successful planning, viability, value engineering, O&M planning, execution, and delivery of energy efficiency and data solutions.
The ideal candidate brings a balance of technical expertise, operational excellence, and customer-centric leadership to drive consistency, scalability, and business growth through customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Operational & Program Leadership
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team to develop and plan for delivery of high-impact energy efficiency projects with measurable results.
- Oversee the O&M and M&V design of each project to ensure Customer Care success and accurate data capture in RedaptiveOne Platform and accurate customer billing.
- Align program execution with strategic business goals, customer expectations, and financial targets.
- Serve as the escalation point for operational and technical challenges, ensuring timely resolution and stakeholder alignment.
- Define and monitor KPIs, manage budgets, and drive continuous improvement across technical operations.
Engineering & Technical Operations Oversight
- Supervise the HVAC/Mechanical, Renewable Energy, and Lighting technical operations team to ensure high-quality technical project development and proposal execution.
- Implement scalable best practices for audits, design and specification reviews, and quality assurance across internal and third-party partners.
- Collaborate with Sales Solutions, Proposal Development and Strategic Sourcing to ensure Customer requirements, supplier readiness and geographic coverage.
- Prioritize engineering workloads and manage resource allocation to meet project timelines and quality standards.
Preconstruction & Estimation Management
- Oversee the review and validation of third-party cost estimates for all ECM projects, ensuring alignment with scope and budget.
- Collaborate with program development and sourcing teams to gather inputs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Support the development of project budgets, financial forecasts, and risk assessments, for handover to Delivery PMs for internal use. Support in tracking costs during execution and making adjustments as needed to ensure the program or project stays within budget.
- Manage the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant responses that align with the company's capabilities and goals. This includes researching opportunities, collaborating with internal teams, developing proposals, and coordinating with stakeholders throughout the RFP process.
- Maintain a database of historical cost and scope data to inform future estimates and proposals.
- Ensure smooth transitions from estimation to execution by coordinating with internal teams and stakeholders.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a key liaison between customers, GTM teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure customer requirements are clearly understood and met.
- Support the development of customer-facing content and technical documentation to enhance program clarity and efficiency.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and executive leadership to drive strategic value and account expansion
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Strong leadership and team management skills across technical, operational, and preconstruction domains.
- Proven ability to scale processes, manage complex programs, and deliver high-quality technical solutions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a focus on continuous improvement.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
- 10–15+ years of experience in technical project delivery, construction estimating, or development of energy services.
- 5+ years of experience managing direct reports, including technical professionals and estimators.
- Experience with Salesforce CRM, estimating tools (such as Sage) and project management tools (Such as Autodesk, Procore)
- Strong C-level presentation and customer-facing communication skills.

- Expected annual salary: $170,000 - $225,000 (subject to adjustment for relevant experience, skills, geo location)
