Technical Leader - Requirements Management Team (BWRX-300) (Remote Eligible, U.S.)
In this role you will be responsible for providing technical oversight and direction, resource and schedule management, professional development, and support to the Requirements Management team in support of the global deployment of the BWRX-300 project. You will be responsible for providing engineering management and technical leadership within a team environment, working with engineering disciplines, project management, project engineers, project/product stakeholders, customers, partner organizations, and suppliers to advance the planning, design, execution, and delivery of new plant projects. You will provide technical oversight and management for the development and implementation of local, national, and jurisdictional regulations and technical and product requirements along with coordination with associated work processes and design partners for advanced work in new nuclear plants.
The ideal candidate should have experience with systems engineering, design engineering, verification and validation of regulations, codes and standards, and regulatory compliance for designing, construction of, or operation of a major infrastructure or critical facilities projects. Experience in implementation of engineering design processes in large scale design and infrastructure projects from conceptual design to detailed design, construction, and commissioning is strongly preferred. Strong preference will be given to candidates who have experience in the nuclear field and have worked with a requirements management database like Siemens Teamcenter or IBM Doors Next Generation / Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM).Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
- Have ownership and accountability to assure the successful execution of the BWRX-300 Requirements Management Program in engineering design, documentation, allocation, verification and validation of regulations, codes, standards, and product requirements in accordance with approved design process and requirements management procedures.
- Lead resource assignment, work scheduling, and prioritization of efforts for a multinational, geographically dispersed team of engineers.
- Provide technical oversight, direction, and expertise in applying requirements management principles, execution, and training activities.
- Maintain an active role in developing and defining requirements management and design process improvements to anticipate, apply, adapt, or develop technologies for new product introduction, quality, performance, cost improvements and problem resolution in meeting current and future business needs.
- Inspire, coach and ensure the development of the team’s technical and leadership talent/depth.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with other internal engineering team technical leaders, managers, business leaders, project managers and stakeholders.
- Interface with external partners, customers, and other applicable country specific regulatory agencies, as required on technical issues.
- Provide leadership supporting performance and program management of assigned work and ensure on-time fulfillment of engineering commitments in accordance with contract requirements, business procedures, industry standards and regulatory agency guidelines.
- Plan, organize and manage the delivery of technical activities/tasks in support of engineering deliverables.
- Provide guidance and manage external resources to ensure the quality of deliverables, enable flexibility and improved cost positions.
- Work collaboratively across the engineering matrix and with business leaders in Product Development, Project Delivery, Sourcing and Quality to ensure close coordination of technical inputs/outputs, project/product requirements, workforce planning/scheduling and risk management.
Required Qualifications:
- B.S. Degree in Engineering Discipline (Nuclear, Mechanical, Chemical, or similar)
- Minimum 6-8 years of experience in a technology or engineering leadership role in working with product requirements, regulations, codes, and standards compliance and validation.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Relocation to Wilmington, NC is desired but not required.
Desired Qualifications:
- Demonstrated people management, communication, and motivation skills.
- In-depth experience with RM databases and software to include Siemen’s Teamcenter, IBM DOORs Next Gen ELM or similar tool.
- Experience working in Requirements Management, Design Process, and development and delivery of new nuclear projects.
- Experience in operating or designing BWR/PWR commercial or Navy Nuclear power plants.
- Knowledge of USNRC and CNSC licensing regulations and IAEA standards

- Demonstrated ability to document, plan, market and manage programs that further the knowledge, understanding and capability of the business.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $111,200.00 and $213,200.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
