The Technical Leader – Shielding & Reactivity Control role will be responsible to lead a group of engineers to perform radiation/dose assessment (shielding and criticality), fluence, reactivity control/reactivity insertion analysis, control rod blade design, spent fuel pool criticality, and transport package design/analysis supporting GVH’s next generation of Light Water Reactor (LWR) the BWRX-300, next generation reactor designs (GEN 4) and products, designs and services related to servicing our existing fleets & fuel.Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for team resource planning and assignments
- Perform manager review and approval of engineering technical deliverables
- Partner with business teams to provide work planning, scheduling, risks and technical support for customer deliverables
- Work within a team environment and have accountability for delivering products and services on-time and on-budget
- Interface with internal and external customers, suppliers, partners, licensing, and regulatory authorities
- Support commercial and marketing opportunities to develop new business opportunities
- Work across engineering teams to ensure effective interdisciplinary design interfaces are established and maintained, resolve interdisciplinary issues, plan/support independent design reviews
- Perform work in compliance with NRC regulated policies and procedures
- Contribute to team process improvements to drive speed and simplification
Basic Qualifications:
- B.S. Degree in engineering, physics, or closely related science discipline from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in nuclear engineering, or related field
Desired Characteristics:
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college or university
- Experience with BWR technology
- Experience sodium fast reactor technology
- Knowledge of plant operational support
- Experience with MCNP, SCALE, KENO, ORIGN, and/or coupled Monte-Carlo/deterministic radiation transport methods.
- Experience in reactivity control such as reactivity insertion accident, rod withdrawal error, control rod drop accident analyses
- Demonstrated high energy and the ability to energize others
- Honest and straightforward with a high level of personal integrity
- Work easily and communicate effectively within a team environment
- Strong personal commitment and determination
- Strong oral and written communication skills

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $111,200.00 and $213,200.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
