Technical Business Analyst

Synergy is seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst to support technical documentation, requirements gathering and delivery, across the Program Management Office (PMO). This person will support the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) as well as process maps, workflows, technical SOPs, training guides, JIRA tickets, Executive Briefings and more. Additionally, this person will have the opportunity to provide support and analysis across the entire Portfolio. 

Looking for someone to deliver technical artifacts, to support program management efforts, and support mission critical systems. Ideal candidate has a proven track record of supporting PMO delivery, in a highly complex software development environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and maintenance of technical documentation across the PMO.
• Translate business, operational, and technical needs into well-structured Jira epics, features, user stories, tasks, acceptance criteria, and supporting documentation.
• Ability to provide cross-functional support to other workstreams such as product owners, developers, DBAs, testers, data teams, cyber security and more.
• Create detailed current-state and future-state workflows, swim lane diagrams, system context diagrams, decision flows, data flows, and process maps using Microsoft Visio.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, training guides, user guides, process playbooks, job aids, release documentation, and other knowledge-management materials.
• Build and maintain integrated project schedules in Microsoft Project, including milestones, dependencies, critical paths, baselines, resource considerations, and schedule impacts.
• Support training sessions, demonstrations, briefings, and stakeholder working groups.

Required Qualifications:

• 1+ year as a technical business analyst, systems analyst, process analyst, technical writer, or similar role supporting complex IT programs.
• Exceptional technical-writing skills, including demonstrated experience turning complex information into clear, concise, and actionable documentation.
• Experience with Microsoft Visio, with proven ability at creating sophisticated workflows, swim-lane diagrams, process maps, system diagrams, and executive-ready visuals.
• Strong understanding of Agile and traditional software-development lifecycles and how requirements, development, testing, release, and operational support activities connect.
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a complex, fast-moving IT environment with multiple systems, stakeholders, priorities, and dependencies.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting a federal government technology program, PMO, or ERP effort.
• Familiarity developing reports or dashboards.
• Familiarity with change management, business-process reengineering, testing, release management, or training development.
• Experience using approved generative AI or Microsoft Copilot capabilities to accelerate drafting, visualization, analysis, and briefing development.

Education Requirements:

• Required: Bachelors degree in a relevant field.

Target Salary Range

Compensation for roles at Synergy is determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the requirements of the role; level of experience; education and certifications; the individual’s combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities; as well as alignment with market data, federal and state laws, and other business and contract considerations. The estimated pay range for this position is: $54,900.00 – $64,600.00. The disclosed range has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case and represent just one component of Synergy’s total compensation package for employees.
