Technical Advisor & Builder (Project-Based, Equity)
Unstuck Engine
Hey, I’m Ivan Kovpak, founder and CEO of Unstuck Engine.
We’re building the infrastructure layer for B2B GTM, replacing manual spreadsheet workflows with an engine that orchestrates intent signals into real-time audiences. We have real revenue ($18.5K in Q1), we are raising a $500K pre-seed, and we are moving extremely fast.
I am looking for a Senior/Lead Engineer to join us as a Technical Advisor and Project Builder.
Why this role exists (The Golden Handcuffs problem):
There are thousands of brilliant senior engineers stuck in corporate jobs. You make great money, but you’re bored. You want to build a startup or become a CTO, but you have a mortgage and cannot afford to drop your salary to zero today.
This role is your bridge. It is a highly isolated, project-based advisory role designed to give you pre-seed startup experience without the financial ruin.
The Real ROI for you (Beyond the Equity):
Yes, this role comes with a vested slice of advisor equity. But the real compensation is career leverage:
- The Founder Sandbox: You get to experience the raw velocity of a pre-seed startup. You will learn how to build from 0-to-1, completely derisking your own future leap when you eventually leave your job to found your own company or become a CTO elsewhere.
- Resume & LinkedIn Power: Adding "Technical Advisor at a funded, revenue-generating AI Startup" changes how recruiters and peers view you. It elevates you from "employee" to "strategic builder."
- FTE Compensation Leverage: Having an active advisory role proves you operate at the highest market level. It is the ultimate leverage to use in your next performance review or job hunt to demand top-tier compensation.
- Pure Engineering Joy: No Jira boards. No middle managers. Just you, an API, and the autonomy to build a complex architecture from scratch.
What I need from you:
1. You are an AI-forward full-stack builder.
You must already be using tools like Claude Code, Bolt, Warp, Lovable, n8n, or Cursor to 10x your development speed. Not as a gimmick, but as true leverage. You also need strong, battle-tested fundamentals in JavaScript, React, SQL, APIs, and system architecture. I need someone who can combine AI generation speed with real engineering judgment to ship stable code fast.
2. You can execute isolated bounties.
You will not be in our daily standups. You will not be fixing our core monolith. You will take ownership of standalone microservices—like building a new pipeline to ingest and normalize a third-party intent signal. You read the API docs, design the worker, use AI to write the boilerplate, and hand us a finished, production-ready endpoint.
3. You don't need hand-holding.
Because this is asynchronous, you must be a self-manager. If you need a product manager to write detailed acceptance criteria for you, this won't work. You must be able to look at a technical problem, make architectural decisions independently, and ship it.
The Deal:
- You keep your day job.
- You take on isolated, asynchronous engineering projects.
- You get pure equity, the Advisor title, and the exact experience you need for your next massive career leap.
If you are a high-level builder who wants to break into the startup ecosystem on your own terms, reach out.
