Job Description
Overview:
Operating within the framework established by the Regional VP, Finance & Accounting, the Finance Team Lead will oversee the preparation and review of divisional financial statements, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal and external reporting standards. This role will guide the development and maintenance of supporting schedules and lead the analysis of income and expense accounts to inform strategic decision-making.
Team Lead will serve as a key liaison between finance and operational teams, driving consistency in reporting practices and identifying opportunities for process improvement. This position requires a strong command of financial principles, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
Key Deliverables:
Financial reporting for their Division, by ensuring accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial information, as well as the analysis of results.
Day-to-day finance functions by ensuring all transactions are recorded and reported accurately, timely and completely, as well as ensuring adherence to budget and expenditures, in accordance with corporate accounting policies and procedures.
Manage and analyze the cash forecasting process and preparing and reviewing information for the annual budgeting process.
Play a key role in the Corporate / division forecast process
Cash Flow – prepare and/or review monthly, quarterly and annual cash flow forecasts and variance analysis, as well as any monthly, quarterly, and annual predictive borrowing bases
Business Plan - assist in the creation of divisional continuities, creation of detailed business plan rollups (including non-salary G&A, fixed assets, financing and other misc. description items), as well as any detailed analysis required on results (including items for the Brookfield Executive Summary)
Burdens CTC's - responsible for review of new and/or updating existing CTC information for all closing burdens. May also provide analysis on all CTC information submitted by the rest of the Manager group to identify issues and offer suggestions to rectify the concerns
Operation Income prepare and/or review monthly, quarterly, and annual guidance updates, as required
Attend various department and inter-departmental meetings to obtain information regarding operational activities, and to provide support and information to other department to assist in their forecasting
Through regular internal control assessments and day-to-day monitoring, evaluate all current policies and procedures to ensure proper and effective internal controls are in place. Implement improvements to current practices as needed. For new procedures, ensure proper internal controls are established up front prior to new processes being implemented
What You'll Bring:
5 - 7 years relative experience, preferred experience in Homebuilding Industry
Proven experience in financial reporting, process evaluation, internal control assessments and documentation
Self-motivated, comfortable taking initiative and possesses superior organization skills
Experience in real estate or manufacturing would be an advantage

Annual Base Salary Range: $80,000 to $110,000
Annual Bonus Target (Discretionary): 20%
