As a Tax Resource Management Specialist, you will play a key role in driving efficient resource planning, optimizing utilization, and enabling successful client delivery across the Tax. You’ll serve as a strategic partner to practice leadership, analyzing capacity, forecasting needs, and proactively recommending staffing solutions to balance workloads and maximize operational efficiency.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct the coordination and execution of staffing for Tax engagements, aligning staff skills, experience, and availability with client and engagement requirements

  • Partner with leadership to forecast resource demand, identify capacity gaps, and recommend strategies for optimal staffing and utilization

  • Maintain and enhance staffing and scheduling systems to ensure real-time accuracy and visibility into team availability and allocation

  • Monitor utilization and project timelines, providing analysis and actionable insights to prevent bottlenecks and ensure timely project delivery

  • Serve as a central point of contact for staffing updates, communicating proactively with leaders, engagement managers, and team members regarding scheduling changes and priorities

  • Collaborate with HR, Talent Development, and leadership to support workforce planning, onboarding, and skill development initiatives

  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying trends, streamlining resource management processes, and leveraging data to drive operational decisions

  • Balance multiple assignments and priorities with precision, demonstrating strong analytical thinking and a proactive, solution-oriented approach in a fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and provide recommendations that improve utilization and business performance

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in resource management, workforce planning, or project operations within public accounting, consulting, or professional services

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline

  • Strong understanding of Tax engagement lifecycles, staffing models, and operational processes within a professional services environment

  • Competence in Microsoft Office Suite

  

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with resource management platforms (e.g., Workday, Dayshape, CCH Axcess Workflow/XCM, or similar)

Certain states require us to disclose the pay range and benefits summary for job openings. For residents of Colorado, the compensation range for this position: $76,300-$104,000. For residents of Southern California, the compensation range: $84,000-$114,400. For residents of Northern California, the compensation range: $87,800-$119,600. Compensation may vary based on skills, role, and location. Eligible employees at certain levels can participate in a discretionary long-term financial incentive plan, subject to plan participation rules.
