Responsibilities

Targeting Analyst – Joint Operations | National Security - Are you ready to launch your career at the intersection of intelligence, operations, and joint fires? As a Targeting Analyst, you'll support the processes and professionals who connect strategic intent to tactical execution — contributing to one of the most consequential workflows in joint military operations.

Working alongside experienced targeters at Combatant Commands (CCMDs) and joint headquarters, you'll gain hands-on exposure to the Joint Targeting Coordination Board (JTCB) process and develop foundational skills across the full Joint Targeting Cycle. This is an exceptional opportunity for an early-career professional to grow fast, learn from seasoned operators, and make real contributions in a high-stakes environment.

What You'll Do

  • Support the Joint Targeting Coordination Board (JTCB) process by assisting in the integration of commander's intent with joint and combined targeting operations
  • Assist in the development and synchronization of target nominations across multiple domains — air, land, maritime, cyber, and space — under the guidance of senior targeters
  • Help produce targeting products that align with operational priorities, legal authorities, and commander's guidance
  • Support integration with CCMD or equivalent joint headquarters staff to assist in theater-level targeting requirements
  • Develop working knowledge of LOAC, IHL, and proportionality analysis as applied to targeting decisions in complex environments
  • Leverage targeting systems and tools to contribute to the production of timely, accurate, and actionable targeting products

This position is contingent upon award of contract

Qualifications

What You Bring

  • Minimum of 9 years w/o a degree or 7 years with AS/AA or 5 years with BA/BS; or 3 years with MS/MA
  • Some exposure to joint or service-level targeting, fires, or intelligence operations — at the tactical or operational level
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph required
  • SAP/SAR access may be required depending on assignment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of Joint Targeting School (JTS) at Ft. Bragg (JFKSWCS) or equivalent service targeting course
  • Familiarity with CJCSI 3160.01, JP 3-60, and JP 3-09
  • Basic familiarity with targeting systems such as MIDB, JADOCS, MAAS, COLISEUM, DCGS-A, or equivalent
  • Exposure to JMEM and weaponeering tools (JWAT, JMEM/AS) a plus
  • Any prior deployment experience in a targeting, fires, or intelligence support role is a plus
  • Familiarity with LOAC, IHL, and proportionality analysis concepts

What Sets You Apart

  • Eagerness to learn the full Joint Targeting Cycle in a live operational environment
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, team-oriented joint headquarters settings
  • Exposure to or curiosity about cyber and space effects integration into targeting workflows
  • Familiarity with SOCOM targeting processes (JPEL/JPTL) or Title 10/Title 50 authorities — even at a conceptual level

Why This Role

You don't need to have done it all yet — you just need the drive to grow into one of the most specialized and impactful roles in joint military operations. This position puts you alongside some of the most experienced targeting professionals in the field, in direct support of U.S. national security objectives, with a clear path to advancing your expertise at the operational level of war.
