The Impact of a Talent Strategy Lead to Coupa:
As a critical member of the Talent Strategy team, the Talent Strategy Lead works globally across our organization driving strategic initiatives that support the short and long-term needs of our organization. Using sound methods and expertise, the Manager identifies, designs, and implements initiatives to fuel scalable growth, foster employee engagement, drive productivity, and streamline processes and decision-making. Partnering with HR Business Partners, Centers of Excellence, and business leaders, this position will develop and implement processes and tools that engage and empower the modern workforce and puts the employee at the center of the work environment.
The Talent Strategy Lead will be instrumental in designing, leading, and executing programming that supports and aligns with our strategic plan. With deep knowledge of organizational effectiveness (OE), this position will drive specific interventions to maintain a simple organizational model, a foundation for scalable growth, and be effective and efficient in how we execute work. In this dynamic and visible role, the Lead will act as a coach and thought partner, catalyst for change, and champion for cross-functional thinking.
What You'll Do:
- Keeping pace with changing industry trends and adjusting strategic direction accordingly while developing programs and recommending practices targeted at equipping Coupa leaders globally with tools to drive productivity and engagement
- Incorporating research, industry best practices and past experiences to develop effective solutions for current and future organizational challenges
- Fostering trust with leaders and employees and building strong cross-functional partnerships with key stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of their unique needs, expectations, concerns, and capabilities
- Using proven OE methodologies in the areas of organizational design, change management, team effectiveness and workforce planning; adapting them to meet the unique needs of each project and/or initiative
- Leading, developing and managing enterprise wide or multi-business unit organizational design initiatives from executive vision through implementation to ensure alignment and/or enablement of business strategy to improve business outcomes
- Leading, developing and managing strategic workforce planning initiatives from executive vision through implementation to ensure alignment and/or enablement of business strategy to fuel scalable growth, with significant ownership of elements of work product
- Working collaboratively across HR Leading to recommend, design, and execute focused global and/or regional initiatives in support of organizational and HR specific strategic goals objectives (e.g., improve engagement, enhance employee experience, increase productivity, drive retention)
- Leading ongoing development and consistent application of strategies, frameworks, processes, and tools related to OE, employee experience, and engagement that provide guidance for HR Business Partners, senior leaders, and people leaders with implementing initiatives
- Leading the design and documentation of key business processes, aligning involved stakeholders on clear ownership of activities and decisions
- Coaching and advising business leaders and cross-functional teams on consistent application of strategies, frameworks, processes, and tools related to OE, employee experience, and engagement for critical enterprise-wide programs and initiatives
- Partnering with Workforce Analytics and HR Business Partners to translate data into actionable reports and plans for execution at the enterprise and business unit levels
- Collaborating with business leaders, cross-functional teams, and HR Business Partners to identify system, process and capability changes and gain alignment for recommended actions by using internal/external resources as needed
- Developing and facilitating workshops, sessions, and training to produce specified outcomes aligned with organizational strategy
- Conducting analysis to provide insights on the impact of strategic decisions on the business and its’ employees, collaborating with HR Business Partners and leaders across the organization to validate analysis
- Providing objective feedback and challenging assumptions with courage and professionalism
- Measuring the effectiveness of programs and driving the continuous improvement/evolution of programs based on organization growth and changes in industry trends
- Contributing expertise and leadership to enhance effectiveness of our Global HR team through operational management, managing multiple priorities, and driving strategic initiatives
What You Will Bring to Coupa:
- Seasoned professional with 7+ years of progressive, relevant experience including working successfully with senior leaders
- Demonstrated experience delivering complex transformations focused on realignment of organizational structures, ideally within a global organization
- Demonstrated experience identifying and translating workforce planning requirements into strategic, tactical outcomes
- Demonstrated experience working directly in the areas of culture and change
- Proven track record of creating, maintaining, and enhancing cross-functional relationships and communicating effectively with senior management
- Proven track record of “hands-on” experience working in highly complex global environments with a proactive approach to addressing rapidly changing priorities, challenges, and stakeholder needs
- Excellent ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization and maintain trust with senior and executive level stakeholders
- Proven ability to drive towards desired outcomes and achieve results amid ambiguity
- Willingness to be hands on and operate effectively independently, while being part of a highly collaborative team
- Strong capability to operate effectively in multi-cultural/international environments and to work with a variety of leaders from different backgrounds and experiences
- Strategic mindset with excellent analytic and problem-solving skills with ability to take a thoughtful data-driven approach to develop meaningful and practical solutions that are simple yet effective
- Proven coaching, facilitation, and presentation skills at all levels, including senior leaders
- Customer-focused working style with a collaborative approach to partnering with multiple stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Strong communication skills (written and oral) with an ability to take concepts and express them concisely and effectively for all levels across the organization
- Demonstrated cross-functional leadership experience, leading cross-functional team members, engaging stakeholders and influencing senior leaders around shared vision of defined outcomes to achieve goals and objectives
- Demonstrated experience translating and communicating complex topics in easy and approachable ways
