This role is responsible for designing and executing research projects that provide deep insights into the efficacy of our hiring processes, the drivers of high performance, and the factors influencing employee retention. Unlike traditional data analyst roles, this position requires a deep understanding of organizational behavior, HR/recruiting processes and the employee lifecycle. The intern will be expected to create standardized frameworks and documentation that will remain with the organization, ensuring that their summer contributions serve as a permanent foundation for future analytical efforts.

Primary Responsibilities
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to define critical research questions related to quality of hire, recruiting processes, workforce planning, retention, and employee lifecycle.
- Balance quantitative data with qualitative insights (survey responses) to provide a full view of the candidate/employee experience.
- Apply statistical methods and data science techniques (e.g., regression, clustering, forecasting) to large-scale HR datasets to build predictive models for attrition, quality of hire, and performance management.
- Document methodologies and metrics definitions to promote a culture of continuous improvement/learning.
- Translate complex findings into clear, actionable recommendations for People Team Leadership and Business Partners.
- Conduct external market research on the future of work / AI, utilizing benchmark data and internal insights to support Cloudflare's efforts in attracting and developing the best talent.
- Currently enrolled in a Masters or PhD program in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Statistics or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated track record and exceptional judgment handling sensitive data.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with statistical modeling and data manipulation using Python, R, BigQuery/SQL, and/or visualization tools.
- Experience working with candidate and employee related data across the entire talent lifecycle.
- Advanced coursework or research experience in applications of AI, work motivation, employee selection, job analysis, or psychometrics.
