Radiance Technologies, a 100% employee-owned company, is seeking a technically strong and highly collaborative Systems Engineer to support a U.S. Government space and national security program in Boulder, Colorado.

This position is ideal for an engineer with strong systems engineering expertise and a collaborative, relationship-focused mindset. The successful candidate will apply systems engineering practices to mission design, interface definition, requirements, and technical baseline management while working closely with customers and multidisciplinary teams. We are looking for someone who can solve complex technical challenges while building trust with customers, teammates, and partners. Strong communication, teamwork, ownership, and the ability to contribute to a positive team culture are critical to success in this role. Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) missions is highly desirable.

This is a full-time, on-site position in Boulder, Colorado. Remote work is not available. The anticipated compensation for the position is $115,000 -$162,000 based on a full-time schedule. Your compensation will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience, and education.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to all phases of a system lifecycle including: CONOPS, requirements, architecture, design, development, integration, test, operations, and maintenance
  • Maintain and develop system artifacts, including requirements, architecture designs, ICDs, use cases, system flow diagrams, and test plans
  • Conduct and/or support Technical Interchange Meetings with internal and external stakeholders
  • Work across cross-functional development teams, government teams, and/or vendors to drive problem resolution and collaboration
  • Support additional activities, such as special studies
  • Interface with the customer, leveraging strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail
  • In some cases, mentor junior and mid-level engineers and fill a leadership role within the team

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • US Government Active Secret Security Clearance required with eligibility for TS/SCI with a polygraph
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Computer Science (relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education)
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in Systems Engineering 
  • Experience with multiple stages of the program lifecycle (design, integration, test, operations, maintenance)
  • Significant hands-on experience in one of the following domains: software, cloud, networking, or cyber.
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
  • Experience with technical risk identification and management strategies
  • Ability to communicate technical information via oral presentation and written format
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills. Ability to passionately deliver high-level messaging to various types of audiences--this will eventually include senior leaders. Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical personnel
  • Self-motivated individual who actively and independently seeks out opportunities for learning and development
  • Collaborates well; enjoys working as part of a team
  • Live near or be willing to move to the Boulder, CO area since the work must be performed in the office

Desired Experience & Qualifications

  • Active US Government Security Clearance (Top Secret) with eligibility for SCI and a polygraph
  • A master’s degree in Systems Engineering or a related engineering field.
  • Experience supporting Department of War or Intelligence Community space programs.
  • Experience with Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) ground systems
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools like Cameo, DOORS, Jira, Confluence, or similar engineering and collaboration tools.
  • Experience working within an agile workflow team environment
