JOB SCOPE
Data science, analytics, and IT operations knowledge combined to drive efficiency of a high-volume, highly-available AIOps solution.
Charter is transforming the way we drive satisfaction by leveraging AI/ML solutions to provide insights into where problems are occurring and automating fix actions. In this role you will be part of that transformation - you will apply development skills, data science, analytics, and IT operations knowledge to help expand this solution and drive overall operational efficiency. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
  • Responsibilities include: designing, deploying, managing, and ensuring stability of the application and platform ecosystem and related back office infrastructure and data centers to provide network security, high availability, fault tolerance, and scalability to effectively and efficiently support mission critical business systems.
  • Demonstrates a high level of competence in IT operations, application monitoring, deployment and configuration management, availability and performance optimization, capacity management and forecasting, cloud computing, datacenter operations troubleshooting critical issues, and coordination of implementation.
  • Represents the Engineering Department working closely with Architects and Engineers in designing, modeling, and implementing new technologies.
  • Become a trusted member of our engineering team by demostrating excellent communication and knowledge off all applications.
  • Assists and leads efforts for design, redesign, and operational efficiencies as business objective and strategies evolve.
  • Mentors and trains other Engineering personnel in key elements of networking systems and provide technical presentations to instruct co-workers and other production services support individuals.
  • Research and identify technology opportunities and their application to the business.
  • Test and validate all new hardware and software for proper configuration and performance.
  • Adhere to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable.
  • Knows, understands and follows company policy.
  • Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner
  • Ability to use personal computer and software applications
  • Systems knowledge (Linux, Unix)
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • In-depth knowledge in areas of specialty for specific applications, and general knowledge of supporting or integrating applications creating platform ecosystems.
  • Basic Knowledge in TCP/IP and the OSI Model
  • Expert knowledge in using ticketing and software tools to support the current operations.
  • Expert knowledge of software designing software, such as Visio
  • Ability to perform duties in a very fast pace environment and ability to learn new technology quickly
  • Ability to use the following office equipment telephone, copier, fax, and calculator
  • Ability to use personal computer and software applications
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • General knowledge of OSI stack and application architectures


Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience. May require Industry Standard Certifications.

Skills /Abilities and Knowledge

  • Development and Dev/Ops skills with full-stack experience.
  • Focus on delivering value to Charter through application of technology.
  • Research and identify technology opportunities with a strong focus on automating workloads.
  • Design, develop, and deploy solutions to improve broader team efficiency.
    Test and validate all new hardware and software for proper configuration and performance (including the AIOps platform itself).
  • Conducts design sessions with engineers/architects to understand data sources.
  • Design of data acquisition and anomaly detection.
  • Gather information regarding how dimensions of data are related and ensure consistency of dimensions across data sets.
  • Focus on correlation expansion within the AIOps ecosystem.
  • Develop high-level requirements for new platform capabilities.
  • Monitors and assists in managing the AIOps platform.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, clearly communicate orally and written updates on critical and non-critical projects .
  • Ability to work independently as well as partnering with internal and external engineers to complete team projects and goals.
  • Development and Dev/Ops skills including familiarity with Linux environments, data streaming with
  • Kafka, and data storage in Splunk, Kibana, and Logstash.
  • Knowledgable with working experience in applying AI/ML concepts.
  • Knowledgable of REST architecture, SOAP protocol, and XML markup.
  • Exposed to operational analytic or service assurance platforms (Moog, BigPanda, CA Spectrum, IBM Netcool/OMNIbus).
  • Experienced in process review and design.
  • Able to select technological solutions based on problem statements.
  • Proficient in a scripting language such as Python, Perl or shell.
  • Exposed to multiple database platforms and storage frameworks.
  • Familiar with cloud-based architectures.

The base pay for this position generally is between
$88,200.00 and $156,600.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
