Leidos is currently seeking a Systems Engineer Intern for Summer 2025. The position is located in Colorado Springs, CO.

We are seeking a college technical intern to be part of a team of engineers addressing emerging challenges in Missile Warning Systems. The candidate will be assigned tasks that are relevant and necessary to the successful execution of Leidos contracts. Leidos will provide the candidate with real world experience and technical and career mentorship throughout the internship, which may result in full-time employment opportunities upon graduation.

Previous interns supported real design and build of models as part of an integrated engineering and development team that is in use today, and supported our cybersecurity strategy. In addition to these kinds of tasks, other work assignments, depending on ability and interest, may include developing algorithms and computer models, supporting the software design, benchmarking hardware performance, supporting user interfaces builds, and supporting software tests.

The position will not require travel out of the Colorado Springs area.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical degree, and have at least a 3.2 GPA.

  • Must be available to work at least 10 weeks full time as an intern.

  • Candidates will be working in a professional environment and contributing to solutions that will be used by Government customers. Therefore, candidates must be dedicated to producing quality work results and must be extremely attentive to detail.

  • U.S. Citizenship required and must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Government granted Secret security clearance. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience on a model-driven program that implemented Digital Engineering concepts.

  • Experience with creating technical documentation.

  • Familiar with Agile, CI/CD, Git, Gitlab, Microsoft coding tools.

  • Experience with software and system modeling, including MBSE tools like Cameo or similar.

Pay Range:Pay Range $46,800.00 - $84,600.00
