The ASTRO Software Release Management group is responsible for leading the addition of SW features and managing them from the front end through development , testing and finally ensuring successful deployment to customers via a software release. Our mission is world class program management with emphasis on risk management and executing to plan.
Job Description
Contribute to the software program management of features developed for portable and mobile two-way communication products new and existing.
- Roles and Responsibilities: - Work with Product Managers and Engineering Managers to gather requirements and support SW operations during feature development. 
- Facilitate Alpha / Beta preparation for early product testing for SW releases. 
- Coordinate with Test and Engineering to deploy weekly SW loads to Alpha Test team members. 
- Support team with sprint planning and quarterly PI planning. 
- Track and report on beta test plans 
- Track and report on open defects via JIRA. 
- Develop / refine process on any of the above to improve overall organization efficiency 
 
- Desired skills: - Demonstrated ability to formulate and execute a strategy aimed at achieving an end goal through collaboration. 
- Ability to manage seemingly conflicting requirements, and objectively analyze different inputs to break down complex problems and drive measurable, impactful solutions. 
- Ability to communicate effectively and analyze, explain, and draw conclusions based on complex data. 
- Ability to influence technical experts and effectively align them to deliver results. 
 
Basic Requirements
- Working towards a Bachelor's in Electrical, Computer Engineering or related Engineering field 
- Must be a US Citizen, permanent resident or be an MS student with work authorization (F1 Visa on CPT accepted only for masters-level students).
