Job DescriptionThe strategic-minded Senior Vice President (SVP) of Commercial Development serves as a key partner to the CEO, with a focus on revenue growth, strategic initiatives, and commercial operations across our four mountains. This individual will be a catalyst for growth and innovation, driving alignment across departments, managing high-impact capital projects, and shaping the resort’s long-term commercial strategy. The SVP of Commercial Development will lead cross-functional teams, oversee guest experience optimization, identify new business opportunities, and work closely with department heads in mountain operations to ensure our resorts remain competitive, and aligned with our company values and strategic goals. This person reports to the CEO of Aspen Skiing Company.
The budgeted salary range for this position is $175,000 - 225,000. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience; all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.

Essential Job Functions/Key Job Responsibilities
- Partner with the resorts executive teams to define and execute the resort’s commercial growth strategy.
- Lead strategic initiatives across departments to enhance customer lifetime value, guest satisfaction, and profitability.
- Act as a senior advisor and operational partner to the CEO, helping to prioritize initiatives, manage communications, and ensure accountability across leadership.
- Coordinate high-priority projects, monitor performance metrics, and facilitate decision-making across departments.
- Prepare executive reports, strategic updates, and presentations.
- Collaborate with finance and operations to monitor business performance and guide resource allocation for commercial ventures.
- Drive pricing strategy, yield management, and optimization of sales channels for resort products.
- Ensure integration and coordination of efforts across all four mountains and strategic partner groups.
- Lead and mentor cross-functional teams focused on commercial strategy and innovation.
- Build a strong commercial culture rooted in data-driven decision-making, agility, and exceptional guest experience.

Education & Experience Requirements
- 10+ years of leadership experience in commercial strategy and/or business development ideally within the travel, hospitality, or ski/resort industries.
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration or a related field required.
- Masters of Business Administration (MBA) preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Proven track record of driving growth, leading strategic initiatives, and managing cross-functional teams.
- Strong financial acumen and experience working with budgets, forecasts, and business cases.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, seasonal business environment.
- Passion for the outdoor industry and mountain lifestyle is a significant plus.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, bend or be on your feet for extended periods of time
- Regularly work in wet, cold, hot conditions requiring the use of protective apparel/equipment to prevent exposure to the elements and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
- Must be able to frequently lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance (weight limits can vary according to position, but no more than 50)
