At Boom, we’re building the world’s fastest airliner—and that takes more than cutting-edge engineering. It takes a supply chain built for speed, precision, and long-term partnership. As we scale up the development of Overture and Symphony, we’re looking for a Strategic Sourcing Manager to help us establish the supplier relationships that will make this aircraft and engine a reality.

This isn’t procurement-as-usual. You’ll work shoulder-to-shoulder with programs, engineering, and legal to bring world-class suppliers onboard, keep us ahead of risk, and ensure our sourcing strategy is aligned with the speed, quality, and sustainability Boom is known for.

Role Overview

  • Develop and drive Boom’s strategic sourcing vision across key commodities—both domestic and international
  • Lead cross-functional RFI and RFP processes alongside engineering and legal teams
  • Build trusted supplier relationships through direct engagement, from technical deep dives to trade shows and strategic reviews
  • Negotiate critical supply agreements that balance cost, performance, and long-term partnership
  • Define sourcing strategies that manage risk and support continuity of supply
  • Analyze industry trends and technology shifts to guide sourcing decisions and identify opportunities
  • Monitor supplier performance and maintain a supply chain risk matrix that enables proactive decision-making
  • Establish and enforce purchasing policies that support compliance, accountability, and efficiency
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain operations
  • Challenge conventional supply chain norms and foster creative solutions that optimize costs, accelerate delivery times, and drive value
  • Identify vertical integration opportunities to strategically streamline supply chain operations and strengthen control

Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field
  • A strong track record in building and managing complex supplier partnerships
  • Confidence presenting ideas and plans to senior leadership and external stakeholders alike
  • High emotional intelligence and the ability to build consensus across engineering, legal, and finance
  • Deep comfort navigating ambiguity and juggling priorities in a high-stakes environment
  • A detail-oriented mindset paired with strong strategic instincts

What Will Set You Apart

  • MBA or advanced degree in supply chain, engineering, or business
  • Experience with international sourcing and global supplier management
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence without direct authority
  • Passion for aerospace or high-performance manufacturing
  • A reputation for being calm under pressure, creative in negotiation, and relentless in execution
  • Experience in a startup or high-growth environment—you know how to build from scratch, adapt quickly, and thrive without a playbook
  • Background in the aviation or aerospace industry—you understand the stakes, the standards, and what it takes to deliver in a regulated, high-performance environment
  • Thrived in a scrappy startup environment, leveraging resourcefulness and adaptability to drive innovative supply chain solutions, rapidly overcoming constraints to deliver impactful results
