We’re hiring a Manager, Operations Support Engineering to join our Mission Operations team in Longmont, Colorado. In this role, you will lead a team of Spacecraft Operations Support Engineers responsible for sustaining mission-critical operations in a 24x7 environment. You’ll oversee personnel leadership, workforce readiness, operational execution, training, anomaly response coordination, and continuous improvement activities that enable mission success.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Spacecraft Operations Support Engineers supporting Vantor’s Mission Operations function.
- Supervise daily operational support activities in a 24x7 mission environment.
- Manage workforce scheduling, shift coverage, timecard approval, leave coordination, and staffing readiness for assigned personnel.
- Establish team priorities, performance expectations, training objectives, and operational goals aligned with organizational requirements.
- Ensure personnel maintain required certifications, qualifications, and operational proficiency standards.
- Partner with adjacent technical resources and subject matter experts to support training, anomaly resolution, readiness activities, and operational improvements.
- Coordinate operational issue resolution and anomaly response activities across Operations, Engineering, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor team performance and operational metrics while identifying opportunities to improve process efficiency and operational effectiveness.
- Conduct interviews, onboarding, training, coaching, performance evaluations, recognition activities, and employee development planning.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Secret security clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Four additional years of relevant experience may be substituted for a degree.
- 2+ years of experience in mission operations or a related technical operational environment.
- 2+ years of leadership experience supervising, leading, or coordinating technical professionals in an operational environment.
- Ability to work on-site in Longmont, Colorado supporting mission-critical 24x7 operations, including time-sensitive requirements, incident response, anomaly resolution, and support outside of regular business hours, as required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.
- Experience with satellite operations, aerospace operations, ground systems, mission operations, or space systems support.
- Experience supporting classified operations within secure or controlled environments.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm and decisive in stressful, time-sensitive, or mission-impacting situations.
- Demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams, develop personnel, and foster a culture of accountability and operational excellence.

Starting pay for this role will fall within the listed range and will be based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, location, and market conditions. Candidates who meet the minimum requirements for the role should not expect to receive compensation at the top of the range. The listed range reflects the expected pay for this position, and final offers will be determined based on each candidate’s experience, expertise, and alignment with the role.
● The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $93,000.00 - $123,360.00 - $135,696.00 annually.For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
