Your Opportunity: Taylor Corporation is seeking a motivated Software Engineering Summer Intern to join our team! This internship offers hands-on experience in software development, allowing you to contribute to real-world projects while developing your technical skills in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work alongside experienced software engineers on development teams that may include on-site, remote, and off-site members.

  • Assist in designing and developing software solutions using established design patterns and object-oriented programming principles.

  • Contribute to user experience (UX) design by implementing intuitive and visually appealing interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

  • Support the development and maintenance of web applications and services using technologies such as C#, ASP.NET, and JavaScript frameworks.

  • Participate in the creation and integration of web services (REST/SOAP) for seamless data exchange between internal and external systems.

  • Assist in writing and optimizing database queries, stored procedures, and data access solutions using LINQ and Entity Framework.

  • Document business processes, technical designs, and system functionalities to support future development and troubleshooting.

  • Conduct testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of applications to ensure high performance and usability across various platforms.

  • Engage in Agile software development processes, including code reviews, sprints, and team meetings.

  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in software engineering.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience or coursework in object-oriented programming and software development principles.

  • Familiarity with at least some of the following technologies: .NET Framework, ASP.NET, C#, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL, and web services.

  • Basic understanding of databases and query languages such as Microsoft SQL Server.

  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and develop innovative solutions.

  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

  • A passion for learning and the ability to quickly adapt to new tools and technologies.

  • Organizational skills to manage tasks, meet deadlines, and contribute effectively in a fast-paced environment.
