We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Substitute Teacher to support our K-12 Homeschool program. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to personalized education and help foster a positive learning environment for students. The ideal candidate will be flexible, resourceful, and committed to maintaining high educational standards in a home-based setting.
Compensation and Benefits

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Attend RMCA substitute teacher training with Director
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, adaptability, and a nurturing attitude
- Ability to follow lesson plans and adapt to different classroom environments
- Knowledge of homeschooling principles
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain a positive learning environment and respond to the individual needs of the students.
- Implement effective lessons in the absence of the regular teacher.
- Ensure that RMCA policies are observed during all activities.
- Create a safe classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
- Keep all children in the classroom under supervision at all times.
- Be familiar with fire exits, fire drill procedures, severe storm and tornado warning procedures. Review notes for the day, take attendance and follow the lesson plans of the teacher.
- Maintain confidentiality as defined by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
- Demonstrate the ability to adapt to circumstances. Exhibit good judgment and use appropriate language or behavior while on assignment.
- Report for duty 30 minutes early and remain on duty for the entire assignment, including planning time of the teacher.
- Fulfill other daily duties as assigned to the regular teacher such as recess, carpool, lunch duty, etc.

- Frequent standing, walking, and active engagement with students
- Occasional lifting and handling of instructional materials
- Participation in school events, meetings, and professional development sessions
