With over 1,500 Stylists across the US, our Styling organization is a critical role to the Stitch Fix business. Stylists are instrumental in creating the personalized style experience that we are known for, as they help our clients find what they love through the “Fix” experience. As a Styling Team Manager, you will develop and inspire a diverse team of 25-50 remote Stylists. Working remotely yourself, you will be accountable for coaching and training your team to deliver an exceptional client experience through each Fix they send, and to meet or exceed performance targets. You will be instrumental in driving the growth of the larger SFIX community through your work, and in all you do, you will foster an amazing culture by embodying our values.
The Styling Team Manager is a remote, full-time salaried position. Hours will generally follow typical business hours, but occasionally will need to flex to meet the needs of your remote team.
Manage, develop and inspire a team of Stylists to achieve exceptional results
- Directly manage - and be accountable for the performance of - a team of 25-50 remote, hourly employees; drive exceptional client outcomes through personalized coaching, support, and developmental conversations that consistently anchor to company objectives and goals
- Analyze your team’s performance using reporting and various dashboards to identify ways to continually drive your team’s performance through behavioral coaching with a focus on meeting or exceeding revenue and productivity goals; celebrate and recognize exceptional performance in a personalized way to inspire your team to ensure consistent performance and growth
- Develop and implement personalized performance management plans in partnership with our People & Culture team to help your employees meet or exceed expectations; implementing corrective action and/or offboarding with compassion when needed
- Be accountable for operational responsibilities, including: scheduling and timekeeping, policy adherence, engaging with company communications to keep yourself educated on business initiatives and requirements for your/your team’s performance
- Create a culture of inclusion and belonging on your team through everything you say and do; keep a consistent schedule of virtual individual and team meetings for stylists to engage, learn, and connect
- Be a credible Styling expert by styling clients in all business lines yourself in order to keep a strong pulse and connection to our service and your team’s experience.
- Foster and model clear and consistent communication across the team and across multiple channels to promote collaboration, share important updates, and ensure alignment with company objectives and goals.
Be a leader in the Styling Organization and within the broader SFIX team
- Interview, hire, and onboard candidates as needed for current or future business needs, within styling or across functions
- Work on cross-functional projects of various sizes that impact the broader Stitch Fix team, including new product and technology launches, employee engagement programs, and more
- Build community, best practice sharing, and collaboration within the team and across the larger Stylist team by demonstrating a growth mindset in collaborative conversations
- Never settle for mediocrity: actively work on your growth mindset by seeking out ways to learn, grow and participate in new initiatives
- Positively contribute to SFIX culture by modeling the Stitch Fix mission, values, and OS in all interactions
- Travel up to 2x/year for development or engagement events
- You have 5+ years of experience driving measurable results in customer-obsessed environments
- You have 3+ years of people leadership experience, directly managing large teams of people (ideally in a customer-focused setting). Experience with managing a remote team is a plus.
- You have a proven history of building strong teams, driving results through your teams, and developing future leaders
- You are tech-savvy and comfortable with navigating Google products and learning new platforms and software easily
- You have the ability to independently make sound business decisions and can be relied on to act with integrity in all interactions
- You are relentlessly focused on the client experience - clients and people are the focus of everything you do and this is reflected in the teams you build
- You take every opportunity to connect with your team, and understand how to personalize your leadership style to various learning styles to maximize success
- You have a growth mindset and are constantly searching for ways to learn, grow, and improve yourself and those around you.
- You are self-motivated, disciplined, and able to complete your work with minimal supervision; people don’t usually have to check on you to ensure your work gets done
- You have a strong ability to communicate with and coach people both in writing and in live (virtual or in-person) settings

Compensation and Benefits
This role will receive a competitive salary, benefits, and equity. The salary for US-based employees hired into this role will be aligned with the range below, which includes our three geographic areas. A variety of factors are considered when determining someone’s compensation–including a candidate’s professional background, experience, location, and performance.This position is eligible for new hire and ongoing grants of restricted stock units depending on employee and company performance.
