ROLE SUMMARY
The Strategy Manager is a dynamic, thoughtful, and collaborative individual whose role is to develop and help achieve the company’s strategic plans. This person will design, execute, and interpret analyses across a wide array of topics to develop strategy + lead implementation and evaluation. The role works cross-functionally to identify business opportunities and solve challenging problems.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Identify, frame, and implement opportunities in a structured, data-driven way to clearly communicate recommendation with options, risks and trade-offs
Design and build complex reports, analyses, and models to predict and assess performance of strategic initiatives
Own analyses end-to-end, framing the question through data collection and modeling to a clear, decision-ready recommendation
Interpret and communicate recommendations from analyses to guide SVP of Strategy and Revenue and other business leaders in decision making
Collaborate cross-functionally to inspire change and lead strategic initiatives to execution
Support the long-term and annual strategic planning and budgeting processes
Track and evaluate key industry and business trends, opportunities, and risks, with particular focus on class scheduling, programming, retail and others
Be a subject matter expert on our industry, adjacent spaces, and relevant other companies
Perform strategic analysis on competitors and markets to identify and evaluate new opportunities
Work directly with SVP of Strategy and Revenue + support SVP preparing presentation materials for meetings and manage associated follow-ups
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Business, Economics, or Analytics
3+ years in consulting or strategy, major firm experience preferred
Consumer subscription, membership, or DTC experience strongly preferred; able to reason about subscription economics — acquisition funnel, retention, and lifetime value — rather than purely transactional or occasion-based revenue models
Role is Manager-level, individual contributor
Proven self-starter who is able to work self-sufficiently
Outstanding problem solver across functions, able to bring structure to unstructured, complex, evolving problems with many stakeholders
Excited to work cross-functionally with a wide variety of job levels and functions
Able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
Thrives in a fast-paced environment and can prioritize while working under multiple deadlines – not a 9-5 job, occasional weekend work will be required
Advanced quantitative and analytical skills required: fluency in Excel; comfort designing analyses and reasoning rigorously about causation vs. correlation
Proficiency in Word and PowerPoint required for executive materials.
Able to stay in a stationary position for 75%-100% of the workday
COMPENSATION
$90,000-$140,000 annual salary based on relevant experience
Bonus potential up to 10% of annualized salary
