Ollie was born with the mission of improving the lives of pets and pet parents nationwide. We make human-grade pet food, tailored for each dog’s nutritional needs, and deliver directly to our customers’ doors. Through Ollie’s carefully crafted meals and health services for members, dogs can truly live their healthiest, happiest lives.
As a member of our growing team, you’ll take part in a company culture that cares deeply about its work and its team members.
Ollie is looking for a GEO/SEO Strategist to lead our efforts in organic search and emerging AI-driven discovery surfaces. This role is responsible for improving how, where, and why we show up across traditional search engines and generative engines, ensuring Ollie is not just findable, but recommended and trusted.
The ideal candidate blends classic, hands-on SEO expertise with forward-thinking experimentation across platforms like Google SGE, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and other LLM-powered interfaces. You’re equal parts strategist and operator, and you know how to turn organic visibility into tangible, measurable business impact.
This is a U.S.-based remote position and reports to the Chief Marketing Officer.
What You'll Do:
- Own Ollie’s GEO and SEO strategy, developing a roadmap that increases brand visibility and conversion across both traditional and AI-powered search experiences.
- Optimize Ollie’s presence on AI-powered platforms like Google SGE, Perplexity, ChatGPT, and others, including prompt testing, source attribution strategies, and content structuring to improve inclusion and positioning.
- Conduct keyword and intent research that maps to evolving consumer behaviors across engines (typed queries, conversational prompts, voice search, etc.).
- Identify high-impact content and structural opportunities to improve how Ollie appears in zero-click answers, summaries, featured snippets, and AI recommendations.
- Collaborate with Brand, Product, and Data & Analytics teams to ensure every piece of content is structured for both human readability and machine discoverability, balancing tone with taxonomy.
- Partner with Data & Analytics, Product, and Engineering to improve site architecture, internal linking, structured data, and crawlability to support scalable organic growth.
- Design and execute test-and-learn programs to evaluate performance across traditional and generative search ecosystems.
- Monitor performance and emerging trends using a blend of SEO platforms and AI-specific tools and platforms. Advise Ollie on relevant tool stack.
- Forecast and report on KPIs including organic traffic, contribution to new customer acquisition, and share of brand mentions across AI-generated outputs.
- Stay ahead of the curve on how consumer search behaviors and platforms are evolving, and help Ollie evolve with them.
Who You Are:
- You possess 4–6+ years of hands-on SEO experience, ideally at a DTC e-commerce brand or digital-first business with proven results.
- You have a seep understanding of SEO fundamentals: technical, content, and strategic.
- You have emerging expertise or strong curiosity around Generative Engine Optimization and how AI search is reshaping the digital landscape.
- You are familiar with platforms like Perplexity, Google SGE, Bing Copilot, and ChatGPT, and a POV on how brands can show up credibly within them.
- You have experience with SEO tools (GA4, GSC, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog) and an experimental mindset toward newer GEO testing tools.
- You have experience with multiple domain management and migration.
- You have strong communication skills; you are able to translate complex technical insights into clear priorities for creative and product teams.
- You are analytical and business-minded; you care about rankings and results, and you measure success by contribution to growth.
- You are energized by Ollie’s mission to transform pet health through better food, science, and data, and ready to help more pet parents discover that story.
What You'll Get:
- Competitive salary and a stake in the company
- Sponsored 401k program with employer match up to 4%
- Comprehensive health coverage including medical, dental and vision
- Unlimited vacation policy that you're encouraged to use
- Paid parental leave
