Job Description:
As the Strategic Sourcing Manager, you’ll play a key role in shaping and executing both near-term initiatives and long-term strategies that drive procurement excellence across a global framework. You’ll lead cross-functional sourcing efforts, guide policy implementation, and serve as the performance driver for your team—ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and continuous improvement goals.
This position requires a deep understanding of Lean manufacturing principles and a passion for fostering a culture of operational efficiency. Reporting to the Director, Supply Chain, you will collaborate across teams to champion sourcing best practices and deliver results that elevate cost-effectiveness, supplier performance, and procurement value.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute global sourcing strategies that optimize supplier value and support business objectives
Manage the RFP process from end to end, ensuring vendors meet expectations on cost, quality, inventory, and service
Oversee contract negotiation and vendor relationship management, aligning performance with strategic goals
Monitor supplier compliance, performance metrics, and contractual obligations to mitigate risk and maximize value
Identify overlapping purchases across departments and leverage volume discounts to drive cost savings
Ensure full compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and ethical sourcing standards
Collaborate with technical buyers and engineers to identify new product needs and qualifying suppliers
Lead and coach procurement professionals, fostering a team culture grounded in strategic thinking and continuous improvement
Implement sourcing policies and KPIs to track progress toward savings goals and operational targets
Apply Lean tools and methodologies to streamline procurement processes and support sustained performance improvements
Ensure vendor product quality aligns with company standards and customer expectations
Support category-specific sourcing initiatives (e.g., commodities, raw materials) as needed
Perform other sourcing and procurement duties in alignment with department goals
Required Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, Management, or Business-related discipline
5–7 years of procurement experience in a manufacturing, production, or military environment
2–4 years of leadership experience in a similar setting, with proven ability to manage teams and cross-functional projects
Travel Requirement:
- 50-75% of domestic travel with occasional international travel
The approximate pay range for this position is $130,000 - 145,000 base salary plus additional discretionary incentive. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Our complete benefits package includes: medical, dental, and vision insurance; paid time off; 401k plan with company match. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
